Terrified!!!
I'm 7m po....I have PCOS...i went in for an ultrasound this morning because i've been having very painful pains in my pelvic area (we were thinking for ovarian cysts bursting or having endometriosis) and lord behold on the monitor I'M PREGNANT!!!!!
I was so sh****ed I hyperventilated, cried, and had a panic attack ..i think i scared the poor technician.
It wasnt because I dont want it but because I've been infertile for YEARS...never ovulated before. I guess its true ...losing weight does make it easier..i just thought (just like with surgery) i would be one of the unlucky ones that it wouldnt work for.
Although I'm 7m po...I am at my goal so they are saying my pregnancy should be normal. I'm almost 7 weeks!! I'm scared (this is my first child) and these sharp pains are so intense to the poin they're almost unbearable! ( i thought they were pms cramps) ...I have to constantly use a heating pad. My dr said this is fine as long as there's no blood ( there isnt )
i'm just praying i dont lose it. I know miscarriages are high after surgery. This is my first time EVER being pregnant in my life .
First- take a deep breath! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Take time to recover from the shock and then...enjoy every moment of it. 7 weeks is still pretty early... but that means that now there's only 33 more to go! I hope everything stays uneventful. It's very common to have some pain.
again....congratulations!!!

Congratulations! What an amazing surprise!
The fact that you've had surgery should definitely not make you more at risk for miscarriage. I don't think there is any evidence that there is a higher rate of loss in WLS patients. As for the cramps, totally normal. Especially with a first pregnancy, everything has to stretch out and make room. I remember being doubled over at my desk during my first pregnancy (everything went swimmingly after that)
Good luck, I'm sure you'll do great!
omg thanks so much for the advise !! this makes me feel so much better...
my ob was just like "as long as there's no blood with the cramps you'll be ok" but for a first pregnancy/first time mom im scared to death!! they feel like pms cramps. so i was scared i was going to miscarry soon and my period would show or something. she didnt say its because my insides are stretching
