question about baby's and their size after birth post wls
I was wondering since I am only at 11 pounds weight gain and say I only gain like 15 or 20 total by due date will my baby possibly be small? since we eat less throughout the pregnancy. for me I just eat more frequently. I wonder if other post op people have small but healthy babies? and what are the chances of early delivery also? i am 11 months post op and 35 weeks pregnant thats another reason why I am curious.
thanks for reading

Shouldn't make a difference. Some people gain 10 lbs, some gain 70, it has little to do with the size of the baby. For reference, pre op pregnancy, I gained 22 lbs and gave birth to a 6lb 3oz baby at 41 weeks. Post op pregnancy, I gained 18 lbs and gave birth to a 6lb 7oz baby at 40 weeks. So, even though I gained slightly less weight, the baby was bigger despite being born a week earlier. I think the fact that I have a tiny frame and tiny pelvis is a much stronger determination of the size of my babies than weight gain.
So, don't worry, your baby will be plenty big enough!
I gained 14 pounds with the 1st one had her at 38 weeks. She weighed 6lbs 13 ounces. With my son, I only gained 2 pounds, he weighed 7lbs, 6 ounces and I had him at 39 weeks.
My 1st daughter (18 years ago) was pre-op --she was 8lbs, 1ounce but she was 41 weeks too.
I don't think it makes a difference, because my 2 post-op babies would have been 8lbs if they had gone over due. They couldn't because of c-sections.

My first baby was a lil lady only a lil over 5 lbs, but dr. felt like it had nothing to do with my gastric; although it had been mentioned several times that due to the fact I had an Tummy Tuck, my muscles didn't stretch (which I didn't complain about); however, as my OB explained, a fish will only grow as big as the fish tank. A small baby doesn't mean an unhealthy one. I was actually thankful for the size because it made labor a piece of cake. As long as you take care of yourself, and your baby you will be fine. Most women are supposed to gain 15-20 pounds, only the very small ladies (underweight they call it) should gain more than 30....Sounds like you are on the right track. Good Luck in your final weeks!
