C-section Scheduled for Nov. 7th - Any Advice?
I am 2 1/2 years out from Rouxen-y surgery and was really successful (lost over 160 lbs.) The 2 reasons for my surgery was for my health (which is now awesome) and to have a chance at having a baby. The baby has been breech for the past few months, she has turned from one breech position to a more breech position. The c-section has been scheduled for Nov. 7 (4 days before the due date). My OB has been awesome, I'm her first gastric bypass patient. She will read articles and call me to make sure I'm getting the right about of vitamins, etc. She has done extra blood work and ultrasounds to make sure I am having a healthy pregnancy. Can you think of anything I should let her know in regards to the c-section, medication, etc. Also, any advice on getting through this surgery and recovery? My rouxen-y was painful but it was laproscopic, so I'm expecting this to be way worse.
First, congratulations. I had my c-section pre wls (and I have the sleeve, not rny), but I really don't think it should be effected at all by your wls. The only thing that could be an issue is if you have a lot of excess skin on your abdomen from weight loss. My c-section was an emergency after 36 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing, and even then the recovery was not bad. I actually had more pain after my sleeve. I would imagine that a planned section would be less "traumatic" and really shouldn't be too bad. Relax, you'll do great!
i have had 2 c-sections and will be having a 3rd. c-sections aren't too bad. The worst thing for me, was having the staples pulled out. I think my rny was worse then my c-sections, and my rny wasn't that bad. It might have something to do with the fact that after a c-section you have a beautiful baby waiting for you. Bring sweats, a nursing bra and slip on shoes..
