Vitamins, Pre-natal, Folinic Acid, etc...
I am 3 years post op and just found out that hubby and I will be having a baby! Yayyy!!! I'm excited.
My RNY wasn't as successful as I would have liked; I lost 100 pounds; but I still feel like I have 100 more to go. I've successfully kept off the 100, and was just getting back into the routine of working out when I found out I was pregnant.
My question is what are the types of vitamins or vitamin regime does pregnant WL patients have to take? As a BB Coach, I drink Shakeology as it helps me keep my vitamin levels up to par and gives me energy. I plan to take this to the doctor as I've been told that pregnant ladies can still drink the Shakeology; just replace it for the prenatal and take more folic acid; so I'm going to find out. However, that is for an average mom to be. I know as a WL patient, we have more nutritional needs.
What has been the suggestions of your doctors?
Thanks for your input.

Believe it or not I'm actually on less "large" pills at this point. I'm 2 years out and I'm on 1 prescription prenatal, prescription folic acid, calcium (very much needed) and in my case 2 over the counter iron tablets a day because my last labs came back with me being animic. I've seen my surgeon in the last month and my OB the next week. Both did extensive labs, and with the exception of my iron my levels have been well within normal. Just remember to keep up the protein (and mix in plenty of fiber too).
