Hey ladies
I'm currently 30 weeks preggers and was curious which supplements you all take, brands cost etc.
I'm trying to find the most cost effective vitamins for myself.
Right now I take two centrum chewables (that have a total of 36mg of carbonyl iron in them )
and take about 1000 of calcium citrate and a 2500 sublingual b12 spray twice a week.

Currently I take 2 multi's per day, 1 prenatal daily, 1000mcg B12 sublingual every day, 1 B100 every day, 1000IU D3 daily, and a total of 1890mg of calcium citrate.

My B12 is from Celebrate
My B100 is Spring Valley or Nature Made... the green bottle vits at walmart.
My D3 is the same brand as the B100
My Calcium is the walmart equivalent of Caltrate Calcium Citrate +D3 Maximum Strength.
My prenatal I don't know the brand of, I got it for free from my doctor.

I also take a biotin sublingual every day. Unsure of the strength, but it was cheap from walmart as well.

Everything except my B12 and my biotin are in capsule form as the chewables are unbearable to me and I just don't take them. My surgeon isn't thrilled with the idea of taking capsule vits, because they supposedly don't absorb as well, but he also agrees with me that some vits are better than none.

 Hello, congrats on your pregnancy!!
Right now I am taking a whole plethera of vitamins. . it seems like so much but its totally worth it. And also I am expecting twins so I have to take an extra folic acid three times a day on top or all the other vites that I usually take just for being a post op. . plus the pre-natal now that I am preggo!

In the morning before breakfast I take
1 Ferrets Iron supplement (106mg elemental Iron) You can get these from Pharmics.com
1 Folic Acid (800mcg) Vitamin World brand

After lunch I take my big dose
1- Pre-Natal Multi Vitamin with 200mg DHA.  Nature Made Brand
1- Calcium with vitamin D (500mg) Also Nature Made Brand
1- B-12 (500mcg) again Nature Made Brand
1- D3 (1,000 IU) Nature Made Brand
1- Folic Acid (800mcg) Vitamin World Brand

And finally after Dinner, and before I go to bed I take
1-chewable pre-natal vitamin with DHA and Folic Acid in it (VitaFusion brand)
1- Calcium with vitamin D (500mg) Nature Made brand
1- Folic Acid (800mcg) Vitamin World brand

So yeah thats about it. . .All my Nature Made brands I buy from Target becuase I find them to be the cheapest, you can print out coupons from Naturemade.com at anytime and they give you points where you can get free stuff and even more coupons. Also there is sometimes coupons in the Sunday papers for Nature made and you can use both at Target. . .I don't work for nature made or antyhing. . lol . . I just like their vites.
So I hope that helped you a little, good luck!!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

Before I found out I was pregnant, I was taking Shakeology as my vitamin and protein supplement.  It has kept me at my needed levels.

Now that I'm pregnant, I plan on taking it to the doctor to see what my options are as I'd like to keep taking it.  And if I have to double up on it, I will do so b/c they taste so good.

My question is I noticed that a lot of responses, people were doubling up on their multi-vitamin; so my question is did any of the doctors have a concern with getting too much Vitamin A in?  I read that too much Vitamin A can cause development issues while pregnant.  Would we not be in this category since we had the surgery?
