Before VSG I went through several years of fertility treatments including 3 IUI's with injectables.  Have never been pregnant and having a baby is my #1 reason to have the surgery.  now that i am officially one year out and cleared by my surgeon, we are trying this month!  we have not been preventing for the past several months but weren't actually trying with timing.  i am doing clearblue digital OPK's and got a positive last night and today so at about 515 a.m. i woke my husband up with a "guess what we have to do before work" look.  (we're both not morning people!).  we'll try again tomorrow morning and then i'm in the 2ww.  feeling very positive and thinking only good thoughts this time around.  we have unexplained infertility (he's fine, so it must be me) and our 2nd opinion RE said that losing weight would raise my chances of getting pregnant.  my bmi went from 52 to 30 (almost at 29!).  here's hoping!  would appreciate and love any positive baby thoughts sent my way please!

you sound a lot like i did. i didn't try to get pregnant before but i was around 260lbs before vsg and got down to 170lbs and was happily maintaining before i decided, this is it, lets do it! its so exciting isn't it?!! well let me tell you the weight loss alone will help you tremendously. your body is a lot healthier now and able to work more properly. now, i had it in my mind that it would happen as soon as i got off the pill and we did it. i had no idea how long it would actually take. normal women try for 6 months to a year before its considered a problem that needs help. not saying it will take that long but keep that in mind. because trying and not getting pregnant month after month (and the women on this forum will back me up) is so discouraging. so try to have fun with it. know that it will be 3-5 months most likely. you don't have to have sex in the mornings. lol. but you know what someone told me that i totally believe is true? if you have a good ****** you're more likely to get pregnant. ugh so true. because usually the sex was like ok lets do it. but then when i stopped tryin so hard and started to enjoy the sex more, oof honey. i still remember that ****** that got me pregnant. lol.

but listen, i went through a lot of ppl telling me to just relax and as someone TTC thats really annoying to hear. so i'm not gonna tell you that. you do it however the hell you wanna do it. if you want to time everything to the last second, you go ahead. all i want to say is be patient. give your body time. getting preggers isn't as easy as one would think. even when you're having sex on your peak days. its pretty infuriating actually. lol. i got pregnant the first time last dec but miscarried. then i got pregnant again in march. the first time it took me like 5 months and the 2nd time it took me about  3 months to get pregnant. and the 2nd time i wasn't really trying anymore. not that long in the grand scheme of things when you consider you only get one shot a month and a lot of peopel try for years. but to me it was an eternity.

anyway good luck!!!! it was a fun an exciting time for me (at first). try not to let it get to you. stay positive. and before you know it you'll have a bun in the oven. and dammit you deserve it after all you've been through. good luck!!

thanks- i think because of all we went through with the fertility treatments before, we're both very anxious about trying again without a dr.'s assistance.   we are only going to try on our own for a month or two before going back to see an RE/fertility clinic due to my age and prior infertility history.  i forgot how stressful ttc is and hope it's easier this time around.

I second when it comes to having an ******* to increase the chances of getting pregnant. I know for sure that with my 2nd and 3rd I climaxed. It's just my opinion and nothing more but I think that it's because when we ******* our body has muscle contractions down there helping the spermies to get up inside us quicker to our egg for conception. Our body is pretty harsh down there and we naturally fight off intruders so the quicker they get where they need to be the higher the chance of conception. Again I am not. Dr and that's just my opinion based on when I got pregnant and the kind of sex we had.
