Pain and more pain

So I have been in and out of L&D all week with upper abdominal pain. I am now 21 weeks along, I am doing great pregnancy wise, baby is awesome, he is a litle boy, and all the non stress tests plus the anatomical us were great.

Now this pain I have, I am almost 100% possitive is related to my Gastric Bypass, so I would like to know if any of you have experienced this and how it was treated.

So I have intense crampyt like pain on my upper left side, below the breast and sometimes towards the middle of my tummy. I do not have a galbladder or an appdice, my liver enzimes are great, the pancreas is great, kidneys are great, so all they could rule out by blood or urine has been ruled out.

This pain gets worse when I eat, or drink, and it sort of reminds me of way back when I had strictures post surgery, yet not as bad as I can still eat, but I do also get nausseous sometimes.

Gas X does not help. I have been drinking MIralax as needed to make sure is not constipation, and I just don't know what else to do. I have very little appetite which of course worries me because of my lil growing peanut.

Also, I moved from the West Coast, wich is were I had the surgery, to the East Coast, and don't have a bariatric surgeon. My surgeon from Cali called me and mentioned a possible ulcer or stricture, so I guess I will need an endoscopy. Anyone had one while pregnant?

I guess I could have the gastro look at the possibility of a hernia. I am in Michigan, so PA would be too far.

You could always request that an endo be done just to check for strictures or whether you have any irritation/ulcers.
Not to be rude but do you think theres ANY chance it could be gas/indigestion since things are starting to get pushed up, and the location isn't always the same?

Hope you get sorted out soon!

I have had a great deal of pain on and off from the beginning of pregancy.  They keep telling me I am good minus the fact that my Corpus Cyst (I know there is more words to it).  Although I believe it feels more like the hernia I had once before, they indicated that the cyst bursting has caused all my pain even up there.  It's been several weeks and it still comes and goes.  I hope they either figure out what it is for you or your pain eases up.  If it's bothering you enough, I am a believer you keep asking about it, and ask if there is alternatives.  Most OBs although great treat us like the every day patient, and sometimes there is thinking outside the box with us.

Again, good luck and feel better!  Stacey
