Glucose Test
My surgeon told me to go ahead and do the Glucola test, so I did this morning. Other then a bad racing heart for 20 minutes I didn't get sick. How accurate is this really though since we don't process sugar normally with RNY? I couldn't do it last week, since once a month, despite being pregnant I tend to suffer reactive hypoglacymia.
UPDATE: It turned out ok. They want to see it under 145 and mine was 118.

I just had an appointment with the perinatal center with the specialist who works with all g bypass patients. He told me that it would just make me sick to do the test so he will have me do a fasting fingerstick and then wait for 2 hours after my meal and do another stick for 1 full week. this will happen around 26 weeks, if numbers are good, no further testing, if numbers are bad we would look at diet control or insulin because there is concern that the oral diabetes meds wouldn't work due to the intestine not absorbing as much as it should.
Right now I'm only 18 weeks, so I have a while to wait, but it was nice to hear he wasn't going to put me through the sugar test.
