Progestrone injections after wls I am 11weeks preg
My dr wants to start Progestrone injections in a few weeks. I wanted to know if anyone else has had these shots? I have a cerlage done the 2nd week of Sept. I am 11 weeks preg right now and I am praying I don't lose this baby. I have lost 3 babys at 20 weeks pre term labor and I am praying for this baby to be born full term. I had gastric bypass Sept 2011. I have lost 145 pounds.
i didn't have the injections but i did take the vaginal suppositories. i had a miscarriage last december. so when i got pregnant in march my RE told me to take progesterone twice a day till i was 12 weeks. i thought that was a ***** much and i was paranoid about taking anything that might effect my baby. but i researched it and progesterone can only help. after that i was more than happy to keep taking it if it meant keeping this baby. now i'm 24 weeks with a healthy growing baby. so i say keep taking it. if you don't want shots i'm sure they'll give you an RX for the vaginal suppositories. good luck!!!! hope you have a nice sticky bean.
I had a sucessful twin pregnancy at 43 years old. I did IVF and did the progestrone injections for the first three months. It was due to the nature of the conception that I needed them. It was a bit painful but bearable. Warm the oil for a few minutes in a heating blanket it helps. Rotate which side the injections go in and ice afterwards. I mostly had my husband do them, but I was able to do them when he was out of town and it was fine.
I had them with both my last pregencys.I lost my twins at 25 weeks do to infection and cervix opening because of infection and this time around went to 37 weeks one day shy of 38 and with no cerlage.I had one with twins. They do help they help me a lot this time around because I couldnt have cerlage with them doing that are you on bed rest.Bed rest helps a lot to take it easy. Its better when they get cerlage in that early and do shots if you had IC.Just keep eye on any changes you may think isnt right. You should be fine!
