Newest Shaelyn Update--->Surgery Update
Hi Everyone, Sorry it has taken me a bit to update. Since my last update Shaelyn has recovered from the balloon cath, and had been removed form the ventilator and using c-pap. Yesterday she had a trial run off of c-pap, it was supposed to be for an hour but she went 3 hrs as she was doing an amazing job breathing room air all on her own. They decided to put her back on c-pap as to protect her so she would not tire herself out which would have possibly caused problems for her. She is such a good girl!!! Got a call from the hospital at 6am this morning, my heart just about stopped when the phone rang. It was the doctor calling to inform us that they found and accepted a donor heart for Shaelyn. We are excited as well as terrified. She went into surgery at 11:55am and the surgery is anywhere from 8-12 hrs long. Keep praying for us if you don't mind and we thank all of you for the prayers so far. UPDATE:Hey Everyone, Shaelyn has her new heart and it is working.....Praise the Lord!!!! She went in at 11:55 am and we were told the news at 4:45pm, she is still in surgery to finish upbut the heart is working Some Long awaited photos: Shaelyn 4 days before taken to the emergency room 24hrs after arriving at sick kids hospital A day at the beach...lol 24hrs after 1st open heart surgery for pa banding Holding hands with Rosie (teddy) This past Monday |
