Finally gaining...

So in the first 21 weeks of my pregnancy, I lost 35 pounds. This worried me because in my mind I was thinking that my baby wasn't getting enough. Well, I think it's safe to officially say that I'm now gaining instead of losing. Between week 21-22 I gained 4.6 pounds, gained 1 pound last week, and so far look to be on track for a 1 pound gain this week. The weight gain, along with the fact that my uterus was measuring 24 cm at my 23 week appointment is certainly comforting, but I have to admit, it's a little hard to see the scale go up now and my brain automatically wants to switch back over to weight loss mode again. I am finding myself in constant argument with myself to keep myself on the baby track and not push myself to try and lose weight again.

I have finally started gaining too. At my last appt almost 2 weeks ago, I had gained back 4 lbs of the 30 I had lost. I've never been measured though. I wonder why? I have growth scans every 4 weeks due to an abnormal AFP test so maybe that's the reason..baby is growing well though. When I went for my ultrasound this past Thursday, she already weighed 3 lbs at 28w 6d.

You're really new post-op, too, so I'm not sure how much "padding" you still have left on your tummy. If you have quite a bit, your doc may not be able to feel your uterus very well, which subsequently makes it hard to measure and feel baby. I never got measured with my first pregnancy, but I was 350 pounds and my doc simply couldn't feel my anatomy and baby beneath all my fat. lol

Glad your little gal is doing good! 3 lbs at almost 29 weeks is awesome! :)
