Question about glucose test

I plan to ask my OB at my next appt., but sometime in the next 6 weeks I'll be taking the glucose test. I can't imagine being able to drink one of those carbonated, sugary drinks ... what did all of you have to do for the test?

I just finished this process. I had to check my blood sugar 4 times a day for a week and record the results. I went back to the dr after that week, she went over my results and that was it. I passed. No biggie, but my fingers were tired of being stuck!

This test was no sweat for me. The drink was no worse than a regular Sprite and my results came back within normal limits so I didn't do any follow up testing. Good luck!

Thanks ladies, for the feedback! I have two kids and no problems with diabetes before, so I'm not overly concerned, but I am a bit afraid of the sugar/carbonation combo!! Glad to hear there may be an alternative or, hopefully, no big consequenece. :)

The high risk Dr that supervises my pregnancy said under NO circustances am I to do this test & that someone will mess up along the way & tell me to do it & that I am NOT to no matter what.... This is my 3 child but 1st post op but no history of diabites.
