Birth Control After Pregnancy

Just a quick question??

My surgeons PA told me that I can take/use ANY form of Birth Control.
I am almost 3 years out from Gastric Bypass and just delivered a beautiful Baby Girl 4 weeks ago.  I have my 6 week postpartum appointment in 2 weeks and they would like to put me on Birth Control.  I do Not remember what forms of Birth Control We can take/use after Gastric Bypass.  This just doesnt seem right that we can take ANY forms.

Any info would be appreciated,

I would avoid any oral birth control because of the malabsorption issue, but other than that I do think we're okay to use just about any form. Best of luck to you and congratulations on your baby girl.

I thought that the malabsorption issue would interact with the pill but, she told me "No, we just dont want you taking birth control pills right before surgery because it causes blood clots, You can take whatever you want".  Needless to say, I was not impressed by her or her attitude!

Well...

If you are breast feeding birth control can can deplete your milk supply. I remember having to be placed on a low dose oral BC because of breastfeeding. If you were to select something vaginal like the Nuva Ring I don't know the effects to breast feeding.
