34.5 weeks update with pic!
I had an ultrasound and ob appt today. Baby Malcolm is doing great! Measuring approx. 5 pounds, 6 oz. which puts him at 5 days ahead of schedule. My gestational diabetes is not even diagnosable at this point so my doctor is only wanting me to test my sugar 2x per week, fasting as opposed to 4 times daily. :) The only unexpected news is that I am 1 cm dilated and baby's head is right there! I have been having lots of braxton hicks and lots of pressure and pain in my pelvis... now I know why! There is a cantalope between my legs! My doctor is making me go on early leave from work so that I can lounge around the house with my feet up. No more nightly walks, or sex (not like that was happening much these days anyway.) I should be able to resume walking in 2.5 weeks when we hit full term. I don't see my doctor again for 2 weeks. I am really shocked that I am leaving work early! I always thought I would be one of those workers who starts labor at her desk and works through the easy contractions! haha
So I am a little stressed out about how I'm going to get things tied up enough for me to leave tomorrow. Thankfully I have disability insurance to help pay for the weeks I am out!
I lost 25 pounds since becoming pregnant. I have officially gained all but 3 of it back! My doctor is glad I am gaining, but I admit its psychologically hard! I'm still at a net zero gain for now, but I'm pretty sure that won't be the case in a couple more weeks!
Here's a picture of my little sweetie! He's looking chubby!

nikki!! i can't belive you're so far along!! 1 centimeter dialated. i would be a little freaked out. lol. but definitely take doctors orders and rest. keep malcom (love the name by the way) in there as long as possible! lol.
and the fact that you lost weight, and that much of it during pregnancy is cray cray. it makes sense to put it back on. i mean you gotta healthy baby boy in there. and you're getting to the home stretch. this is when you put on the most. i know its a mind trip though. but it sounds like you're doing amazingly well!! ahh!! so happy for you!! he's almost here!!! he looks squished! poor thing. no wonder babies like to be swaddled. he is so adorable already!!!

Thanks Meli! We have another ultrasound pic of him with his face, both hands, his cord, and a foot in it! That one looks really cramped!
Losing weight during the first and half of the second trimester was pretty unexpected. I was 14 months post surgery when I got pregnant and hadn't been losing much at all in the months prior, even doing weigh****chers to try and help more come off. For some reason being pregnant just kicked my metabolism into high gear! I had some food adversions during the first trimester and didn't eat a lot of sweets. But by the second trimester I was eating a lot and have kept eating a lot since! I guess our bodies just do what they need to do to a point!
