day 3 lab work
I was originally told i had pcos (by my regular endo who assumed since i had insulin resistance i also had pcos). A pcos specialist later told me i have no signs of pcos and would list my infertility as unexplained.
as i am awaiting my year check up in september, i am in the planning phases of finding out where my levels are so i'll know if i have to immediately jump back into an RE and meds/ivf, etc... which is where i left off prior to surgery. My day 3 FSH was 10.1 (shows borderline diminished reserve - so sad about this), my estradiol was 33 which i think is fine, my LH was 5.2 (not sure why it's so much lower than the FSH), and my prolactin was skyrocketing at 41.5 ( i do have hypothyroidism so this may be affecting it).
I'm completely bummed and from what I read, either the high prolactin is from the thyroid issues (my meds are constantly being adjusted and i'm now at 0.24 for TSH so they are changing me AGAIN on the dosage), or from a pituitary tumor which i would need an MRI to find out about.
Not sure about FSH since when i was doing fertility treatments prior to surgery my FSH was at a 5 (3 years ago when i was 33).
Anyone have words of wisdom or advice? Based on these numbers it's looking like it's back to the reproductive endocrinologist i go and i'm thinking IVF is in my future? I did several IUI's with injectables along with clomid and ovidrel and femara and ovidrel. I'm doing OPK's to see when/if i ovulate and will do a 7dpo progesterone test once i get a positive. completely depressed right now.

I'm sorry you are struggling with infertility issues. I have PCOS and one fallopian tube so I also chose to go to an RE. The good news is my RE is fantastic and I got pregnant right away with injectable meds and IUI. I definately wouldn't say that IVF is your only option. However, I am not knowledgable about your particular issues. I recommend getting in with a good RE ASAP and come up with a game plan! There are lots of support websites with women much more knowledgable about the different reasons for infertility. I bet they could offer great support and success stories for you! Don't give up!
