Stomach Cramps
I am 28 weeks pregnant, and had a VSG in Nov 2010. I have had no heart burn or nausea this pregnancy. Yesterday morning I woke up feeling really nauseated with a headache. By 12:00PM I had severe stomach cramps and heartburn feeling in my lower (not upper abdomen). I only ate a banana and gram cracker. Today, it has been the same thing. Anything I eat gives me sharp pains. I have only had a couple of bites of chicken broth and some saltines. I have only gained 11 lbs this pregnancy but in the past two days I have dropped 2. My OB has never really asked questions about my surgery, and I really feel like it might be more VSG related that pregnancy related. I have a, OB appt tomorrow morning, I am not sure if I should just wait or go in to the ER tonight? I know they will send me directly to labor and delivery, and I don't want something that might be VSG related to be overlooked because everything is fine with my pregnancy. Any other ladies have similar stomach issues in the last trimester?
Definitely sounds worth a call to the doctor! Lower abdomen sounds more likely to be pregnancy related than VSG. Although it could just be dehydration, it sounds like possible symptoms of pre-term labor. Don't ignore these symptoms. Better to go to L&D and have them send you home with something like gas, than to ignore symptoms that could potentially put you and the baby at risk!
Good luck, keep us posted!
