How much weight did you put on on your first trimester?

So I don't know about you all, but for me, even though I have wanted this baby more than anything else in this world, is hard to gain weight. I am so scared that I will just get fat and never go back to my goal weight.

I was maintaining at a range of 125 to 130 lbs for about 6+ months before I got pregnant. My LMP is 5/08/12- so I am just 8 weeks, and I am now at 133. Is this too much already for just the first trimester?

Would be interested to know how much you all gained during the first trimester. I just want to make sure I don't over do it.

Thank You!

A woman of a healthy starting weight should expect to gain 25-30 pounds during her pregnancy. Most of the weight gained is put on in the second and third trimesters when the baby is growing most rapidly, but 3 pounds from the high end of your maintenance range is nothing to worry about (at least not in my opinion). If you have not already seen your OB, it's a good idea to talk to him or her about what they think is reasonable weight gain for you. They'll be sure to say something if they think you're gaining too much or too fast or not enough/not fast enough.

It is hard gaining weight back when we've all worked so hard to get it off, but keep in mind why you're gaining weight. Most of the baby weight will fall off within a couple weeks of delivery. If it starts bothering you very badly, put the scale away and don't look at the number when you go in for your monthly check-ups.

Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy :)

Thank you! My first prenatal appointment is on the 12th. I had a confirmation appointment with the nurse and we went over supplements, but the rest will be discussed then. I can't wait LOL

:) No problem. Truth be told, the first appointment really isn't all that fun, but I know what you mean by not being able to wait! LOL Good news is that the rest of your appointments won't seem to take as long after the first one. I had my doctor confirm my pregnancy the day I found out - I was 3w6d and my first prenatal appointment wasn't until I was 11 weeks. Felt like an eternity to wait!

Yes, it definitely feels like an eternity. I am just really wanting to hear the heartbeat and make sure things are progressing well.

I gained about 2 pounds my first trimester, but I was maintaining at a higher weight.  So far this trimester is where I'm really starting to hate my scale.

I actually lost 30 lbs during my first trimester but I was only 3 months out from surgery. So far in my second trimester, I've gained 1 lb. The baby is growing well and the dr doesn't seem to be concerned.

I'm starting to get concerned with my weight gain..and I can't stop eating..it's crazy! and I crave all the wrong foods.
My pre-pregnancy weight was 204...and right now at 25 weeks (tomorrow), I'm 220...yikes, that's 16 lbs..and I still have 3+ months to go!!

I didn't gain much at all in the first trimester..I still weighed 204 on April 27th..I remember that...then I went to 212 by May 24 and stayed at 212 by June 21.
I  like to stick with my OBGYN's scale, but I had a doctor's appt with my regular doctor last week and her scale said 220..so I gained 8 lbs in a few weeks?? Hope not!
I go back to the OB on July 16...so we shall see.
