It's been a whle since I have posted but I figured this was the best place to find the much needed answers that I am looking for.  I just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant and I am ecstatic and scared all at the same time.  it's been 16 months since my Gastric bypass and I am having a heck of a time finding an OB/GYN that has experience with patients that have had Gastric Bypass surgery.  If anyone knows of any please please please pass their name and number on to me.  I have contacted my surgeons office also to see if they could refer me to anyone but I figure word of mouth would be the best place to start! I'm looked in Los Angeles, California. Anything around Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Culver City anything around those area would be helpful.

Thanks so much!

Here is my email just in case you want to forward any more contacts.

congrats and welcome! I know how you feel I was right there with you when I found out I was pregnant. I found a really well known and respected medical group funny thing is I could'nt find a dr that "specialized" in that field. I ended up getting a dr that specializes in high risk pregnancies and got set up with a nutrionist. all my obgyn does different is monitor the baby more closely as she grows. I am 18 weeks now so far so good. I think if you ask your old gynocologist for a dr who is good with high risk (we are'nt all high risk)  and a good nutrionist. you will be fine. then you always have your surgeon you can touch base with too. don't worry too much it will be ok stay excited . most drs won't see a newly pregnant patient till they are 8 weeks. also read reviews on any Drs you are interested in. good luck you can do it!

Hi. I am in OC, Ca so not so far.  Try not to worry, there is not too many concerns at 16 months post op... they may just have to monitor your weight gain a little closer than most.  I was refered to a high risk ob for 1 apt already (who has quite a bit of experience with post op) & he didnt see any issues & said I will only need to see him again if my reg OB requests it again.  Just that they may do a few more ultrasounds in the last trimiser to check for size.  I would be happy to give you the Dr.'s info but I have Kaiser... Let me know if you need info. CONGRATS!!
