NO BABY OR SAC LOCATED!
I went to the ER this Thur. due to period -like cramping, was given a transvaginal ultrasound, doctor couldn't locate sac or baby!!! I am really freaking out right now. My last period was April 25th, I have a 38 day cycle and I wasn't due for another period until the 1st of June, and apparently it never came....so woud you guys say it's too early for anything to be seen?
First, hugs and lots of baby dust your way. I know exactly what you are going through. Please, please make sure you follow up with your regular ob/gyn. God forbid, and I hope it's not your case, but if it's in your fallopian tube, it's best to get treated early. I had mine rupture last year and almost died. Had to have emergency open abd surgery and it was the most painful experience of my life. I lost my right tube but was successful in getting pregnant this year. If caught early, they can give you the methotrexate shot, have it resolved and you can try again. Your OB will more than likely watch your HCG levels and do serial ultrasounds to diagnose.
Best wishes!
Best wishes!
Brandi, thanks for the hugs and baby dust! ;-) And I do have an appointment coming up this Friday to meet with my ob/gyn, hopefully they will get a better feel of things. I am very reassured now, doctors from the ER said bloodwork was rising in the manner it should! they will be scheduling me an ultrasound for next week. Doctors told me that If I was having an ectopic pregnancy, I would be in a great amount of pain and would have other symptoms. They checked my ovaries that night. nothing was in there. So please keep me in your prayers, I will keep you posted. And congrats on your little one!!!
When I was 6 weeks or so pregnant this time around they couldn't find mine with an ultrasound either...until they sent me to an actual ultrasound tech, who had no trouble locating it. So yes, mistakes can be made, be sure to follow up with your regular OB!

Depending on the skill of the person and the quality of the machine, and considering you were in the ER, it very well could be missed. You're not going to see much at this stage - a sac and a fetal pole most likely. I could see someone who wasn't experienced missing it. I would most definitely follow up with blood work and an ultrasound. Please keep us posted, and hang in there!
Thank you soo much for you response bittybabynurse! yes I went to Women&Infants ER, they are actually people who deal with pregnant women and their babies.....they wasn't able to locate anything. They tested my Hcg levels which came back to be 268. Went back 2 days later for more bloodwork, doctor called me back the next day and said everything looked good and that my levels had risen like they should. So one more time, 2 days later I had another repeat Hcg, still awaiting those results....should get them tomorrow. She also said she would order another ultrasound next week. So, please keep me in your prayers, and I will keep you posted. CONGRATS on your bundle of joy!!
