can't sleep
well that supposed sleepiness you're supposed to get in the first trimester never really lasted long for me. when i first got pregnant the first time (MC) i was sleeping all the time. but this pregnancy was diff. i never got that thing where i would sleep a lot. i just had laziness and lack of energy. and now i'll take a nap on the couch. but for the last month or so i find that i can only sleep 1 good hour on the couch, and even though i'm still tired i'll just wake up. and when it comes to sleeping in my bed at night i wake up after 3-4 hours. i have to force myself to go back to sleep. last night i fell asleep hard on the couch at like 1am. my husband wanted to carry me to bed. of course i told him not to. i don't want him breaking his back. but i knew once i got up from there it wouldn't be the same. and of course it wasn't. i fell asleep but then i woke up. i tried to force myself to go back to sleep. i tossed and turned for what seemed like hours till i couldn't take it anymore and got up. it was 5:51am.
it feels like my body is preparing me for lack of sleep. but i thought that only happened in the 3rd trimester. lol. can't a girl get a break? i want that good luxurious sleep. sleeplessness. anyone else had this so early on?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but I have sleep issue from the beginning! It sucks and I have 2 other daughters I have to care for so naps are out of the question for me, just keep trying to nap, and maybe go on a walk after dinner and get yourself nice and tired, I do Bikram yoga 3 times a week at night and those days I seem to sleep better. Good luck! I saw your video it was great! I am very happy for you.

I started Bikram before I was pregnant, and had to check my temperature etc.. in the begining but I did well and I really enjoy it now. I do have the pregnancy modifications and miss my old poses sometimes but I am additcted now.

It is very normal, unfortunately. I had major problems with this during my first and the beginning of my second trimester. My first 2 preg i never had a prob with sleeping until third tri. and getting up to pee every couple hours. The good news is that it seems to have gotten better like i said towards the middle of my second tri. Just to let you know is a result of hormonal changes and can also be caused by anxiety (which i know you have had understandablely). I know iwth me i would wake up and just couldnt stop thinking then i would be like......well might as well get up and get ready for work......at 330am and i don't have to be there till 8am.....lol....but hey i would get laundry done fix breakfast for the kiddos do dishes and still got to watch a little of the news b4 heading out....but boy was my butt draging by noon..lol It has gotten much better now and could prob sleep another hour or two, but it wont be long and i will be back to peeing every 2 hours and my sleep will be deprived once more and for quite some time after that when baby Anderson arrives in 9 wks. Good luck and hang in there i know how ya feeling. Oh and i tried forever trying to see that video, but i must be too retarded to copy the link right or it could be the puter....yep bet its the puter. Wish i could have viewed it so i could see the joy in everyones faces...errr

ahhh hormonal changes. oh those cooky hormones. i'm hoping i can get some decent sleep before the 3rd trimester. its so weird to be physically tired but mentally awake. my body doesn't want to get up but my brain will no longer allow me to lay there. but then what happens, i eat something and bam right to sleep. lol.
aww i'm sorry you can't see the video. i don't know another way to share it. and i don't want to put it on youtube.

I have trouble sleeping, too, but I think my troubles are more due to being so uncomfortable and finding it impossible to find a good sleeping position. Sleeping on my stomach hurts a little bit, sleeping on my back makes my back hurt, sleeping on my sides is uncomfortable even when I'm not pregnant....
And then I have the same problem - once I'm awake for whatever reason it takes FOREVER to find sleep again. I'm up and down all night long. :(
I do remember some sleeplessness when I was pregnant with DD, but I remember it more at the end of the second trimester and throughout the third. Then again, I was already having trouble sleeping before I got pregnant to where I was taking Trazodone every night to help me out. Didn't even finish a whole prescription before I ended up pregnant and had to go off of it, so that might be a factor, too.

I had trouble sleeping while pregnant and it was mostly related to my mind racing constantly and my perpetual worrying. My OB approved me taking Benadryl to help me sleep with the warning that it might be habit forming...which it is and I knew that ahead of time from a previous long addiction to it. Anyway, I needed to sleep so I took it. I wouldn't do it without your doctor's blessing, though.
