Pregnant less than 6 months out from VSG
I had my VSG in December and just found out I'm 8 weeks pregnant. I think my DH and I are still in shock as this is my first pregnancy and totally unexpected. I'm a little concered because my weight loss has been very slow (surgery day was around 240, the day I came out of surgery was 250 from all of the water weight, and I'm at 198 today). I wasn't using birth control due to having a blood clot right after surgery plus I have PCOS and went through previous infertility treatments with no success. We had come to the mindset of being completely content without having children the natural way and have built our family so far through adoption.....we have 5 children and have our hands full. I guess they'll be even fuller! I want to be excited and am but very cautious-it's still early on in the pregnancy. It hasn't sunk in yet. I'm worried about what my doctor will say? I'm worried about how my kids will handle it.....not to mention our 5 y/o has some significant mental health needs and we're homeschooling him next year for Kindergarten because the school district isn't providing him with what we feel he needs. I was even worried about telling DH because we've talked at length about how we're done with having kids (ie. talking about if any of our childrens' bio moms have more children and ask us to adopt). He was great-said this is an unexpected blessing and that everything happens for a reason. So many emotions!!
