when did you start to show?
thanks for sharing the pics! you know what though? i was trying on maternity stuff for kicks and i found out that certain dresses make me look pregnant. and thats just from being heavy. because they just sit weird on me. i looked at myself in the mirror and arched my back a little and i looked 8 months pregnant! lol. i was like...no no no..i'm not there yet. lol. but see in the first pic you look more pregnant than the last. its all in what you wear i guess.
I worry about not looking pregnant too. People tell me every day that they can't even tell I'm pregnant and I'm already 25.5 weeks along. My tummy is bigger and I'm wearing maternity pants and some maternity tops, but mostly some older tops that are longer and bigger than what I was wearing before I got pregnant. I'm hoping by 30 weeks people will stop looking at me with a shocked look on their face when I tell them how far along I am! I'm 5ft 8 in. and 225 pounds.
nikki you should post pics! i love pregnancy pics. i can't wait to take a buttload. lol. let me ask you something though. see here's something that worries me. if people can't tell i'm pregnant and i just look fatter, i feel like people will judge me and have an excuse to look down on me and say "oh you see, she gained it all back". i feel like even though they know i'm pregnant, certain people are just jerks. they'll say oh don't gain it back or oh you should be eating well and not gaining more than 10lbs or something like that. have you had to deal with any of that?
Thats a good question Meli and I hope you don't have to deal with too many a-holes commenting on your weight gain during pregnancy. I haven't gained any weight at all and people keep telling me that I look thinner, even though I'm not. I had a couple people voice their concern about me getting pregnant and it causing me to gain all my weight back, but I think now they are seeing its not true. Your body will do what it needs to weight wise to support your pregnancy. Losing weight is about getting healthy and for a lot of us, to help us get pregnant and have a family and live happy lives! It's not about what you look like!
When I eat junk food I just make a comment about how I need to keep my calories up and leave it at that. Its true... you gotta eat at least 2,000 cals per day and its hard to eat that much healthy food with a small tummy!
I'm sure you'll think of a creative way to tell people to buzz off if they are socially retarded ;) And I doubt you will gain over the normal amount of weight with your baby :)

thanks nikki!! i hope so. i was hoping the morning sickness period would help me lose some weight or not gain some but i never got that. so who knows. i'm honestly not sweating it too much. its not anything crazy but it is steady weight gain. i honestly don't even wanna get on the scale. i'm afraid to see. but the last time i got on even though i was heavier i was .5lbs less. which made me feel better about things. the baby needs me to eat! lol. i should be eating better but i'm not going to fast food every night. so its not like, out of hand. i think the thing that bothers me the most is gaining in my face. i'm one of those people that gets a double chin right away. i'm just afraid to have a fat face again. thats the only thing i really worry about. other than that i'm fine. and i'm worried that people will say things. my own family says things. everyone watches me like a hawk just waiting for me to screw up. thankfully i only need 3 more weeks before i can tell people i'm pregnant so i'm laying low till then.
I'm sorry you have such a critical family :( I can relate with you there. The good thing about pregnancy is that is up's your metabolism! I bet you'll get to the point where you can eat more and not gain much weight. And everyone says breast feeding is great for weight loss so you might have that to look forward to as well!
thats good to know! sometimes i feel like the baby is working off what i eat. lol. and i hope to breast feed. so i'm hoping that helps too. and although i may gain more than what the websites say i should gain (10-15lbs seems a little unrealistic for me since i feel like its creeping up steadily and i'm only 2 months), i have no intentions of letting it get out of control. at all. maybe 30lbs. but nothing super crazy. just giving myself some wiggle room.
If you're short you may well show sooner. When you're tall you have more vertical space for things to grow in and it seems to take longer for things to be obvious. Most people didn't really notice I was pregnant until about 25 weeks. Of course, you can always wear things that would have made you LOOK pregnant when you weren't pregnant, and they'll make it a bit more obvious!
I'm 30+ weeks now and still wearing spanx because I appreciate the extra support, otherwise it starts feeling like the baby is just dangling from my rib cage They do also make maternity spanx as well!

This is me around 30 weeks with my first baby (I'm 5ft 6in and was probably about 220 in this picture, I carry quite a bit fo weight in my abdomen as well (I haven't been as good about pictures this time around).
And I think I may have actually taken this one the day my water broke (literally about 4 hours later). Oddly enough, I'm wearing the same outfit today.
