ok i know i'm WAAAYYY early on this. i honestly don't expect to show for months.  i'm scared i won't show at all :( because i'm like 185lbs now (5 feet tall) which you know, is a lot smaller than i used to be but its not skinny by any means. i carry all my weight in my midsection. and i still have my gut. so i feel like you'll never notice a baby growing in all that fat and skin. :(  i would love to be big and round. thats my dream actually. i honestly can't wait. i know some women who because they were bigger didn't really show till the end of pregnancy. some you couldn't really tell at all. they just looked big. and some where way bigger than me and they were sporting a nice round tummy. so honestly i have no idea how it will go for me. i'm gaining weight, but i just look fatter. lol. which i don't mind right now since i'm not telling ppl about my pregnancy yet. my boobs are bigger which i can appreciate. lol.

so i wanted to poll you guys. how big were you when you got pregnant and how long did it take for you to show?

I was like 240 something when I got pregnant but I'm 5'10".  I also hold all my weight in my belly and I really never got a nice solid "D" shaped belly.  I always had a "B" but I managed to form it into a nice "D" with highwaisted control briefs.  I liked the "barely there" brand at Target.  I would wear those and a maternity cami over the top and it smoothed things out nicely.  This was at 20 weeks...

This was about 36-37 weeks.

oh i love it!! love the tummy. good call on the control briefs! sounds like a great move. lately i've been kind of uncomfortable wearing things at my waist (which cits me into a B) and been wearing things higher up on my belly. its more comfortable. its so cool that you were showing this much at 20 weeks! thats great! i'd be so excited to show by then. you were so cute and tiny with just a little belly and even at 36-37 weeks you looked great!! :) thanks for sharing!!

Yeah when I say high waisted, I mean they actually go right up to your bra line so there's nothing at your waist at all.  Even on my super long torso they went up that high so on you at 5 feet tall they would definitely go all the way up.  You just want a light or medium control because the last thing you want is to feel like you're squeezing baby...lol.  I still wear them when I want to be smooth. :)

definitely not tight because anything tight is super uncomfortable. all the stuff i wore with spanks i won't even wear anymore. i had to get a maternity bra just to be comfortable.

I am still a big girl and have a very big panni.  I started to show around 21 weeks.  Now I look pregnant, and at different times throughout the day I look really pregnant.  I have only gained 18lbs so far, so I think I am doing good.  I haven't taken any recent pics, but will be shortly now that I look pregnant and not just fat....LOL

so it sounds like 20-21 weeks is kind of the sweet spot for starting to show.  i have a big panni too. my husband and i joke that the baby has a lot of room to grow in there. its luxurious. lol. not to mention i have a long uterus. that kid has a suite in there. lol.

i'll be honest, i've been pretty bad. i've been giving in to all my cravings. i've gained like 5-7 lbs ( although i haven't checked in a couple weeks so it could be more) and i'm only 9 weeks! oy. bad i know. i need to eat better. i really have no excuse.

To compare apples to apples (first pregnancy), I was 195 (5 feet also) when I had my first pregnancy.  By 24 weeks, I was still 195 lbs, but was finally looking definitely pregnant (as opposed to just fatter).  With my recent pregnancy, I showed a lot earlier (typical with a second pregnancy).  By 12 weeks I was having a hard time hiding it on my size 6 frame.  However, my waist has always been my smallest area, I carry a lot of weight in my hips and thighs.  A lot of it depends on how I'd dress.  I definitely second the camis and high waist pants (or a belly band) in order to smooth things into a nice round bump.   Either way, you'll look beautiful!  I think pregnancy is truly beautiful on everyone!

girl, i find myself taking clothes that i had stopped wearing because they got too big and putting them back in rotation. but i don't feel defeated or anything like that. not yet! i don't feel bad. i feel glad that i still have some tops that fit! whew! i had to go out and buy some as well. i also have pants, brand new, that i can grow into because i lost weight so fast i didn't get a chance to wear them. so in that sense i'm good. i mean i definitely feel my clothes tighter, but i just look fatter. and maybe i am just fatter. lol. i've been kind of bad. i cannot wait till i start showing. i know with the 2nd pregnancy you pop out a lot sooner. i hope i do start to show, even a little by 5 months. i'm hoping!!

With my first, I was one of those women who no one could tell was pregnant. I just looked a little fatter than normal. Of course, at the time I did weigh in the 350's, so I'm really hoping this time is different. Anyway, here are some pics to compare. The first one is from 21 weeks (I apologize for the TP roll in the shot LOL) when I started to see a little bit of a difference in my tummy and the last one is at 36 weeks. But yeah. People I work with somehow didn't know I was pregnant even right before I took maternity leave. I still don't know how that was even possible in that gossip pit but I still got really shocked looks when I told them I was within a month of giving birth.
