Disappointment isn't even close

I should be about 8 weeks 3 days today.  I went in for the first appt. and the doc. wheeled in a portable U/S.  He said the baby looked about the right size but couldn't find a heartbeat.  However he stuck me on a prescription prenatal and folic acid and scheduled me for an internal U/S with a tech in 2 weeks.  Anyone had this happen to them and not result in a loss? I'm still pretty big sized (177 pounds and 5'3") and have a lot of loose skin.  I just want to yell...why put me on more pills and make me wait 2 more weeks to hear what I already sense.  Sorry needed to vent.

I can't believe they're making you wait two weeks!!!  How incredibly frustrating.  When I was pregnant with my first, at about the same time, I had to go for an ultrasound to check for a heartbeat and it was so nervewracking!  Luckily, they only made me wait til the next day, even that felt like an eternity... I can't even imagine two weeks.  Sending prayers and good thoughts your way, I hope everything is ok!

I'm with Paula on this... 2 weeks is brutal.  Did they do blood work to check the HCG levels? 
I'm so sorry you're going through this.  It's a disappointment  I went through 2 times and 1 time much later in the pregnancy...    I'm so very sorry.

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.  For a time when they say you shouldn't stress...
They have me going in for the levels this morning since they want to do a fasting sugar test with the rest of the levels. 

so this one wasnt internal? if not, i would try not to stress... the dr is an idiot for doing one this early on your belly anyway

You really never know. Whith this baby I went in a little over 6 weeks and they couldn't even find anything on the ultrasound. Had my HCG done and it was well high enough for something to be there, so they sent me to someone else for an ultrsound. That one had no trouble finding a baby! sometimes the skill of the person using the tools makes a BIG difference.

It was an external, with one of those ancient portables on a cart.  In the meantime I went in and got my labs done, as he seems more concerned with my sugar levels then anything it appears.   In the meantime my husband is acting positive for me.  I don't think he can take it if we loose another one.  I've just never had a dr. try the external this early on.

I'd request an internal if I were you.  For this pregnancy.. she did an internal until well into the 2nd trimester...

Thank you.  I'm about to change Dr's.  I just got a call from my office saying they can keep the internal scan on the 24th, but the dr. they have scheduled to see won't be in that week so they can't get me in to tell me the results until the 31st.  That will put me 4 days shy of being 12 weeks.
