8 months post sleeve- preggo
So, I had my sleeve about 8 months ago, and just found out I was preggo. We are very excited, but it happened earlier than I thought! I am down almost 100lbs and less than 15lbs from surgeons goal. I am just worried about my nutrition, on some days I struggle to get in 800 calories, and I guess now I have to up that to about 1200? Anyone here in the same boat as me?
I got pregnant 6 months after my sleeve surgery (on purpose). I was almost at a normal BMI and not really losing any more, my labs were all great, and I was able to get a decent amount of calories, protein, and fluids. Neither my surgeon or my OB had any sleeve related concerns and my baby was perfectly healthy... he is now 6 months. You'll be fine! Congratulations, and good luck!
I got preg 3 1/2 months post RNY and my dr hasn't been concerned so far. My labs are fine, baby is developing nicely and I'm continuing to lose. I ate even less during my first trimester due to morning sickness but made sure to eat small meals often and took vitamins. The baby will take from you what you need. Congrats and well wishes!
VSG on 02/14/12
I haven't really been counting carbs or calories since I got pregnant. I barely get in as much as I did before I got pregnant. I called my surgeon as soon as I found out and he didn't give me any advise. Didn't seem too concerned except to make sure I take my vitamins and to have my OB watch my labs. So far, I haven't had any nutritional problems despite my terrible morning sickness. My best advise is to take your vitamins and eat often. From experience, the more often I eat, the better I feel even if I can only get a couple bites down. Sorry I can't be more help. Feel free to friend me on facebook. My name to search for is Brandi Stone. Best of luck!
I got pregnant 4 months post VSG - totally not expected after 7 years of TTC.
It has NOT been an easy pregnancy but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. :)
I'm am totally embarassed and surprised by how much I'm able to intake as my pregnancy has been going on. I really dislike how many calories I'm taking in yet I KNOW it's for the baby - and in all honestly, i've lost 12 lbs!! kinda confusing.
Also dealing with deficiency in Vitamin D - so make sure you take extra of those!
You'll be surprised what you can fit in when you are pregnant. Just don't do it till it hurts, but do enough that you are intaking a good amount of calories. I'm back eating Carbs which I didn't before and hope to not to after hte baby.
I've had to adjust things to feed this little babe. and they say she is growing perfectly. :)
