Trouble losing "baby weight"
I had RNY 3 years ago and gave birth to my son (my first child) 7 months ago. I gained approx 22 lbs during my pregnancy and he was 8 lbs 9 oz of that. But I feel like my restriction is nothing like it was before I had him and I am having trouble getting back on plan so I haven't lost the rest of the weigth. It is really starting to depress me that my clothes fit nothing like they did before and some of them not at all. Somebody please tell me if you have gone through this and give me some light at the end of this tunnel.
I've had 2 babies post-op. With my 1st baby I was only 8lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight at my 6 week check-up, but nothing fit! Over the next 1.5 years I put on 12 more pounds to put me 20lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. I finally got strict on myself and lost the weight within a few months. With my last pregnancy, I gained more weight during the pregnancy (40-45....with 1st it was 30-35) and didn't loose nearly as much at my 6 weeks check-up. I've become strict with myself again and have lost 13lbs in the past 3 months or so, but I want to loose at least 20 more and wished it would come off faster. You could google the 5 day pouch test, but I found what works for me is drinking lots more water, watching portion sizes, choosing protein 1st, cutting carbs way back and limiting junk food (candy, etc.)...oh and exercising.
Don't be to surprised if you get down to your pre-pregnancy weight and your clothes fit you differently. I think with pregnancies our bodies tend to change and the weight shifts differently. Best of luck to you! It seems sooo easy to gain the weight and so hard to get it off!
