Please tell me I'm not the only one...
I feel terrible lately because I've been eating some things that aren't great food choices. I don't eat them all the time and only if I have the calories to spare and have gotten protein in, etc. I've also been sipping on some diet Sprite lately. With the morning sickness being as bad as it's been, these things feel good on my tummy (especially the diet Sprite which is poured over ice and allowed to fizz out a little so it doesn't hurt me).
I just feel so guilty for eating the bad things on ocassion and drinking a pop when I was told absolutely NO carbonated anything! Any advice? Please tell me I'm not the only one breaking rules... :- /

You're SO not alone! Diet coke is like my afternoon "mommy time"! If I haven't had it by 3:00, watch out! While I was pregnant, I ate all kinds of crap. Not in large quantities, or in place of meals, but I definitely ate it. During the summer, I was craving a lot of salt and had a handful of potato chips every afternoon WITH my Diet Coke (how many rules does that break at one time?). My blood pressure was crazy low at the time and I actually think the salt was the only thing keeping me going. When I tried to cut out the chips because I felt guilty, I started to get really light-headed. So, to a point, I think we have these cravings for a reason. All in all, I gained 18 lbs during my pregnancy, all of which was gone by the time the baby was 3 weeks old. Don't beat yourself up over a few indulgences. I think as long as you're not bingeing, skipping meals for the sake of snacking, or gaining a ton of weight, you're probably just fine!
I soooo agree with everything Paula said. You are sooooooo not alone!!! I went through a period during this pregnancy where I was craving (and buying and eating) donuts! Donuts of all things. I gained a total of 16 pounds all gone within 3 days of delivery.
Allow yourself some indulgence. Especially if you're getting all the good stuff in. Just do it i moderation and don't beat yourself up about it!!!

OMG I have been craving donuts soooo badly! Every time I go to the grocery store I find myself drooling over the donut case! LOL I have yet to give in to this craving, though. I keep telling myself that no matter how good they may sound, I'll likely get two bites into it and find it disgusting as I do with many sweet things.
I'm very glad to know I'm not alone.

you're not alone. I occassionally sip on diet sodas, the same way in a cup with ice fizzed out a bit. But my surgeon (he was German) told me that if I needed a "fix" to do it that way. He said it won't hurt unless I'm drinking it all the time and not getting the things I needed in (ie protein, water). My guilty pleasure lately though has been lemonade (made with real sugar). It helps with my morning sickness big time! sometimes I'll just drink water with a squirt of the lemon juice in it though.
I feel that if it weren't for diet dr pepper I wouldn't drink anything. I checked with my doc and she said it is fine. I CAN'T drink water, it grosses me out and I just can't stomach it. I also drink the carbonated no calorie drink from Walmart that comes in flavors. And eating...I need to get protein back up and carbs out of here, and try healthy snacking...I had DS but I completely know what you mean. GL!
