Hey

I just found out I am 5 weeks pregnant and have been having problems keeping my blood sugar up.  I have never had problems with my sugars before they are dropping below 4 a few times a day.  I am eatting ever few hours even thought I was told not to eat more then 3 times a day with a small snack.  Does any one have any ideas.

I am going to the dr. ASAP

HI I have been having this problem for sometime now. I am 17 weeks pregnant and have to eat about every 2 hours to maintain my BS. Do you have a monitor?
And yes I have been gaining weight but the dr told me Friday it was more important to have a healthy baby rt now. Staying away from carbs has helped me some but I still have a problem if I go too long without something. Good luck to you and please share what your doctor says.

Make sure you eat some protein (at least 10g) every 2 hours.  And have some healthy carbs throughout the day too.  By healthy carbs, I mean fruits and veggies - not breads.  The Old School thought of only eating 3 times a day goes completely out the window when we're pregnant and especially when you're struggling to keep your blood sugar up to a normal level.  I'm sure your doc will have more suggestions.
