I had  RNY surgery 2yrs ago, I lost alot but didnt get to my goal , and now I am pregnant.  I have so many emotions about this pregnancy and alot of concerns.  My first concern is I can not physically drink alot any more, since my surgery. I do not get thirsty often at all.  I try to keep something to drink around , and I sip on it as often as I remember but hardly get enough fluids in... i just dont know why this is ... is this normal for RNY patients to not be thirsty ? I just dont know.
Also I am constantly sick to my stomach , I know this is normal for pregnancy but I can not take my stomach pill that my gastric doctor has me on and I wonder could this be making it worse.

On top of all this I am just scared that I will gain so much wait.  I am trying to eat healthy BUT , nothing sounds good to me at all :(

I don't know if it's normal to not get thirsty a lot, but I have the same problem. I've even been in the hospital once for dehydration. I just find it difficult to find something to drink that tastes good for me. One day one thing is ok, and the next it makes me gag. I can sip Lactaid milk, sometimes water or crystal lite... sadly, tea does it for me a lot of times which I know is a no no.
As far as eating what you're supposed to, I know how hard it is with the morning sickness. Protein, in any form other than cheese, makes me gag. So, I try to do more peanut butter, beans, cheese sticks and low fat milk. That's about all I can suggest. Hope it gets better for you.

I also HATE drinking fluids and really have to force myself too. I use differen****er bottles and make sure I have a certain amount of oz. down the hatch before breakfast, lunch and dinner. As far as what to drink... be creative! Mix some juice with water to make a super diluted juice. Or do the same with propel, or vitamin water etc. I really find it helps having some flavor. I also like tea, and switched to decalf black tea once pregnant, and I also like mint herbal tea a lot.
Can you eat fruit easily? Watermellon has a lot of water in it. Same with cucumbers, but less sugar.
Good luck, I know its hard!

I bought decaffeinated tea, made it at home and took it with me. No, its not as healthy as plain ol' H2O but I can tolerate way more tea than I could water.... I picked my battle and stayed hydrated.
