37 weeks pregnant and 15 months post-op

I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. I am 15 months post op from my DS. I have lost 215 lbs, 40 of which has been during my pregnancy. I have a question for other patients who may have done the DS and then had a baby.

I have heard that the likelyhood of a C-section is very high post-DS. I want to go completely natural and do not want to have a C-section. Has anyone experienced this? Also, were there any other complications during delivery due to your DS? I have had a wonderfully easy pregnancy with no complications.

Your WLS really shouldn't effect your ability to deliver a baby.  Talk to your OB about what you want your delivery to be like and they can help you to manage your expectations so that you know what to expect on the big day.  I had a sleeve, not DS, but if anything the weight loss made a vaginal birth easier for me.  My first baby (pre WLS) was a c-section, and my second baby (post op) was a VBAC.  I really can't see how surgery on your stomach and intestines would have any bearing on your ability to deliver!  Good luck, and congratulations!
