i am wondering if anyone had trouble conceiving before surgery and then noticed increased fertility after surgery? i have one DS (conceived on first round clomid) and PCOS. we have been trying for a second one for 2 years, but nothing. i am scheduled to do surgery in july so we have stopped trying for now, but i am wondering if anyone experienced an easier time getting pregnant after WLS?

YUP!!!   I went through almost 6 years of infertility treatment (PCOS, low counts for my husband) and eventually conceived my now 5 yo ds and b/g twins who are 4.  I had vsg in 10/10, lost almost 150 lbs...  then conceiced this surprise baby girl who is due in mid June.   So yes, wt loss can often help those of us with PCOS conceive.  Good luck!!!   Amy

I can't say for certain that my obesity prevented me from conceiving because we weren't trying. I can say that we struggled for a solid year to conceive successfully after I lost all of my weight, 2 chemical pregnancies in that year, and then I delivered a beautiful, full term, healthy baby girl on 30 October 2011. I was 19 months post-VSG when we conceived Tatum, and now I'm approaching 3 years post-op from my band to VSG revision.  Today, I'm 10wk5days pregnant again and we were using protection.
Band to VSG revision: June 3, 2009
