update on my pregnancy - and a little rant

I went in for an ultrasound today and the baby is measuring very large. She is about 5 1/2 lbs right now. Since I have a scheduled C section they really aren't too concerned with her size, although I wonder if that's partly why I've been so uncomfortable. I have pain that starts in my back or upper butt cheek and radiates through to my thigh occasionally and that really hurts, whenever I stand for more than a couple minutes I get really weak and hot, my heart starts racing (got up to 155) and I have to go and sit before I pass out. My blood sugar is even more wacky now that they put me on glyburide for what they are calling glucose intolerance not gestational diabetes, apparently my numbers are not severe enough to give it the full blown GD diagnosis, but the medicine has made my blood sugar go super lower between meals like 55 was the lowest and then after my meal it would be so much higher than it ever was before like 230. So I stopped the meds. I almost passed out from low blood sugar and then seeing the numbers go so high, I decided to just be more vigilant in my eating habits. I started tracking what I was eating and how it affected my blood sugar, so now I stopped the medicine and am eating very little carbs. The blood sugar numbers are much better now and the doc is happy about that so all is better there. I also have been having some crazy contractions but they check me and everything is closed so they think it's just dehydration although I drink so much I have to pee every 30 minutes. This is my last pregnancy and I am really trying to enjoy the good moments I do have but wow, this is so much harder than my other pregnancies. Maybe that means an easy baby right..lol  Anyway, I only have 7 more weeks so I am very glad!!! My hormones are going insane too! My previous pregnancies I wasn't too hormonal, this one I am not the funnest person to be around. Oh well, it's all for a good cause!

Your back pain sounds like sciatica, which is pretty common in pregnancy, no matter what the size of the baby. It's a pain in the rear. Literally.

Remember the ultrasounds can be off a pound or two.Im 35 weeks Sunday and today my baby is measuring 5 lbs 13 oz  and 35 weeks as of today.

Yes, I know and that could be the case here. With both of my other girls, the measurements were within a few ounces so I just assumed this one was close too, but you're right, different baby, different measuring, it could be off.

OMG the girls are sooo cute! look at harmony and all that hair!  I know EXACTLY how you feel I was in misery my 3rd trimester!  Towards the end I was drinking 150 oz of water a day (yes I was keeping track) and peeing like every 10 min and I still had contractions every single day.  it just sucks, i think each one gets worse!  yo are almost there just take it one day at a time.  are you still working or are you off now?
