Update of my babies with pics
So I haven't been on here too much, if you saw my former post I am unable to continue with the "Baking mommas list" posts. If anyone would like to take over please PM me!
Elliot will be 5 weeks tomorrow, WOW, time goes even faster with your second! He has been having a rough time. We discovered after several feedings got projectile vomited on my walls/funiture/ floor he has severe acid reflux that is causing him a LOT of pain. We were EBF'ing for the first two weeks of life. The doctor suspected a milk intolerance, I cut it out of my diet and the vomiting continued. We tried soy formula but I was not happy with it and the side effects. We switched 2 weeks ago to alimentum which is hypo allergenic and already broken down which had the oppisite effect and made him have incredibly painful gas. I called the GI this morning and we switched yet again to similac sensative for gas and fussiness. I am hoping this does the trick combined with the prilosec he just started. He was on zantac for a week and a half to no avail. He has been on the prilosec for 4 days, so far things seem the same but I hope it will kick in soon. If not we need to explore other options because he is just in so much pain. I know he is not "colicy" which, to me isn't an answer either. He sleeps pretty good, 6 hour steches at night. But there are periods during the day where he is SO unsettled and hoarse from the acid/screaming. I feel terrible and I will not stop going to specialists until we figure out what works for him. He is such an incredibly sweet boy when he is not thrashing in pain. We had to rush him to the pediatric ER a week and a half ago because he was yet again projectile vomiting his meals, they ruled out pyloric stenosis which is a good thing but still left me with a lot unanswered. Also, a lot of you remember how terrified I was to have a boy and was going though a little gender disappointment. Well we are so in love with our little man I cannot imagine having a girl instead of him! he's awesome :)
Sage is going to be 2 next month that was the quickest 2 years of my life. She is getting so big and SO smart. She might be the smartest 2 year old around, of course I am bias! She weighs about 29 lbs, finally starting to fill out from such a tiny little thing. We love going to the park and just signed up for gymboree classes next week! we are starting tumbling classes in the fall when she is 2.5. She loves to dance and sing. She knows song by Adele word for word, my mom even got her the CD for christmas LOL. She's starting to adjust very well to Elliot and has stopped hitting him lol. She got sick for the very first time 2 weeks ago with the stomach flu, she started on her way home from my inlaws on an hour car ride, she threw up the entire time, it was terrible. And whats worse we had a then 3 week old who was RIGHT next to her in the car. Russ and I ended up very sick also but by some miracle Elliot did not get it!! Thank goodness!
We have been in our house for 3 months now and all is so far going well. So happy to own our own home althogh its still very much a work in progress. I love the fact we are settled for our children and they will have a stable and loving home to grow up in. Since Elliot is our last and not by choice I am coming to terms that our family is complete! Here are some pics!

What a couple of cuties!!! Sorry Elliot is having such a hard time. Hope you find a solution very soon, poor little guy. I can't believe Sage, she is getting so big, and turning two. Wow, where does the time go? Love the pictures, I especially like the hand holding one. Glad things are looking good and you are settling nicely into your new home. Take Care!!!
They're both beautiful! I'm sorry to hear about your little boy's reflux. We went through that with Ruby and it's AWFUL!! Started with Zantac and ultimately ended up on Prevacid.
Eventually the acid was under control with the meds but the constant spitting up didn't stop until she was about a year old. I'm sure they will find the trick to control the acid but be prepared that the spitting up might not stop for a long time. We were just thankful that she wasn't in pain anymore but the constant spitting up gets very old. She continued to gain weight and thrive so it became more of a laundry problem than a health problem evetually.
We used Enfamil A.R. because it has added rice and was supposed to cut down on the spitting up but even with that AND adding cereal, it didn't slow it down at all.
Anyway, like I said, the important thing is to find the trick to control the acid so he's not in pain. The rest you will deal with. I know you also have the AngelCare monitor and that was a godsend for us. I never would have been able to sleep without it because Ruby was only comfortable on her tummy and I was so nervous.
