Hello everyone. I'll be 1 yr post op the on the 22nd of this month and i might be pregnant. Id love another baby, but am sooo terrified about gaining all my wt. back. Ive lost almost 160lbs and still have another 50lbs to go b4 I hit docs goal and mine as well. I had rny because after my son was born, its like i had no metabolism at all. i dieted and exercised and nothing, so i had the rny.
Did anyone else have these worries? did you gain a lot? did you lose? any suggestions?
Thank you so much

I can totally relate. I was downright paranoid about weight gain in the pregnancy, and I don't care what anyone says about it being a trivial, non-issue for them, it's a big deal for me. AND, what I realize is that it's OK for me to have those feelings. It didn't lessen my joy or gratefulness for a pregnancy, but it was a fear that I had to deal with. Some will "scold" you for having those concerns, but it's a valid worry in my opinion. Like I said, being concerned about weight gain in a pregnancy is normal. I worried about weight gain when I was 21, pregnant with my first and weighed 200lbs for that pregnancy. I truly struggled with the physical changes of growing out of my clothes, and gained quite a bit of the weight at the very end due to being on steroids at the end of the pregnancy.

For my last pregnancy, I was already below my surgeons goal, and at 130lbs to start my pregnancy. I gained a whopping 35lbs in the pregnancy, and lost 23-25lbs in the first 4-5 weeks post-delivery. I let the holidays fly by me, we traveled "home to Texas" and I wasn't going to diet my way through the holidays. I started getting real serious about cutting carbs, and working out and the scale wouldn't budge. I lost a measly 2 pounds and was at a loss as to why I was struggling to get off the last 10-12lbs from Tatum's arrival on October 30th. Least to say, I'm 9 weeks pregnant again, and had no clue I was pregnant. So, that was a big reason I just couldn't lose weight.

Since you have weight to lose, you might not gain very much weight at all, or maybe lose a few until you closer to the end of the pregnancy. There's lots of women on here who didn't gain a lot of weight with their pregnancies and/or they were able to lose it quickly after delivery. Just continue to eat healthy, small meals, and stay on top of your labs. Exercise if you can, and stay hydrated.

Congrats ! ! !
