another boy. I am excited that my son will have a brother that will be very close in age. They will be the best of friends.
My 18 week scan showed nothing wrong with my son. Everything appeared to be normal including his weight for this stage in the pregnancy. This is a big relief to me as my eating has been horrible with all the morning sickness.
The only negative from the scan was that my placenta was low. Dr. said in 80% of the cases it will correct itself as the uterus gets bigger. He said if it stays this was its a condition called placenta previa which could be a problem. I will try and stay positive and hope for the best. Will check again in 11 weeks.

I was also told at my 20 week appointment that my placenta was low. I had a c-section with my twins 11 months ago and I want to try for a VBAC this time (I'm 31 weeks along). When they told me I could be at risk for placenta previa I became nervous by my doc said that low-lying placentas usually correct themselves between 28-32 weeks. So I was rescanned when I was 28 weeks and the placenta is no longer an issue. Everything is where it should be. Now, if only someone could relieve my fears of having Twins 12 months old and a newborn.

Thanks.
Ummm, I am wondering how I am going to make it with a 15 month old and a new born. I can't imagine your thoughts.
One thing I keep trying to remind myself is that we are never given anything we can't and somehow it will all work out.
Good luck!

Even if the low placenta doesn't correct itself, it likely simply means you may need a C-section instead of delivering naturally - it shouldn't actually cause harm to the baby. A C-section may be disappointing to you, but if you line upa room full of kindergarteners and try to pick out which ones were delivered vaginally versus C-section, you can't do it - as long as baby is healthy, method of delivery won't make a difference :)

Yes, I did read about that. I am certainly not against a C-section if necessary.

I had marginal placenta previa at my 19 week ultrasound and it was completely out of the way when they did another ultrasound at 28 weeks. Try not to worry about it. You'll get to have another ultrasound which is always fun!

Hey you! Thanks. I am really excited for another boy. Its funny cause when I tell people they are like "awe I'm sorry a girl would have been nice" but I am very happy about another boy. Plus I have so much boy clothes that weren't even used for my first so won't need to get much of anything for #2.
Hope you are doing well.

Big bonus on not having to buy much! I have some friends that have given us a whole bunch of boy stuff and of course we're crazy mommies and have bought a whole lot too! And then there's the shower! LOL. I'm doing well. 22.5 wks and feeling good. I've only gained 8 lbs so far and my OB is super happy w/that. I just need to get my butt moving and exercise more. But I'd so much rather take a nap all the time! LOL. That and I'm now in the I-only-sleep-decently-well-every-other-night phase. OY! I'm glad I'm getting a taste of the sleep deprivation now cuz I know it's gonna be wild.
