Last Day at Work! YAY!!!
Just have to say it's my last day at work! We get 2 weeks off before our due date and I am looking forward to spending them with Lorelai. I can't believe she just turned 19 months and we're about to have another! Wow!!!
Genevieve is now breech...at least she was Wednesday, who knows where she is now. Doc says there is so much fluid in there that she could spin and spin to her hearts delight. My doctor wants to schedule me for a c-section at 39 weeks. I am going to talk to her about the risks of waiting until 40 weeks. I would really rather wait if I can. Hopefully G still turns.

I hate that not everyone gets pre-delivery time off :( I only get my 6 weeks of short-term disability after the birth (and the first two are an unpaid waiting period, which means I need the 2 weeks of PTO I have saved up to cover that time). Any additional time I take off before or after would be unpaid, which we can't afford since my husband ended up gettin glaid off after I got pregnant (he's working again now, but it was nearly 3 months on unemployment for him, which paid less than half of his normal salary).
And so, I am left praying for something relatively minor to be determined to be medically wrong with me so I might be put on bedrest and start my short term disability early!
Enjoy your time off!
Oh, and is your doc not willing to try to turn the baby from the outside? I've seen this work for multiple women whose babies were in the breech position. Without a medical reason to get the baby out earlier, I wouldn't agree to a C-section (or induction) before 40-42 weeks.

Hooray for you!! Full time working moms here get 8 weeks before, 8 weeks after (for normal birth) 12 for C-section and can take up to 2 years after birth and still have their job waiting for them!! They have no idea how lucky they have it. I think most don't believe me when I tell them what's typical in the US!
Like Jill said, have you spoken to your doc about trying to turn baby from the outside?? Might be worth a try!!
Enjoy the 2 weeks with your little one and spend some time taking care of yourself too!! Almost there!!!!

With my last one, it was spinning around towards the end too. So I defintely think it's possible for her to get back head down. I'd think they would be ok with waiting until 40 weeks, if you go into labor before that then they'd deal with the situation then and whatever position she's in. Anyhow, enjoy your two weeks off and I look forward to seeing pics of the baby!
