I'm So Distraught

My lifeline to my baby conked out today....my doppler Croaked!!! That thing gave me my sanity, with so many losses and being obese and not always feeling Squirmy move it was reassuring to hear his/her heartbeat when I felt insecure (everyday). The doppler unit itself is still working just the probe is gone. Oh the woes!!! Come on baby Kick the crap out of mommy!!! I know I am going to regret saying that at some point... Confused

I NEED A ZIPPER!!!! I wish we had windows to our wombs!!!

Aww. I hope you can get that fixed soon. Don't worry, the baby will make its presence well known in the next couple of weeks. Good luck. I wish I had had a window too! lol

Don't worry, over the next few weeks you'll go from little flutters to all out soccer games in there!  Here are some things I used to do to get my kiddos moving...

- poking
- A flashlight against my belly (baby would move away from it)
- Drinking ice water on an empty stomach (baby would move so dramatically away from the "cold spot" that my whole belly would get lopsided, became a fun party game)
- Relaxing in a warm bath (helps you focus on movement)
- Getting on my hands and knees so the baby could "hang" (I swear this gave them more room to move about).

Have fun finding what gets your 'lil one squirming!

Sherry-Lynn!  Don't do that do us, you scared the heck out of me!!  All of Paula's suggestions are great ones.  Hang in there because in a few more weeks you won't need the doppler to feel reassured.  Little one will reassure you him/herself!!

Although, windows to the wombs would be cool!  : )

I THINK mine is still buried in my nightstand somewhere.  If you want to send me a private message with your address I will happily send it to you!  It doesn't have a probe, you hold the unit itself up to your belly and you have to use headphones.  It doesn't give you a heart rate or anything but you get to hear it.  It's nothing fancy but it worked great.
