Hypothyroid and third trimester?

My hypothyroidism came around with my first pregnancy (I speculate - this is when symptoms started but I wasn't diagnosed for a couple of years later). With my second pregnancy, all of my levels were good and I didn't take synthroid the entire time.
I'm pregnant with my third child (first boy) and ever since I hit my third trimester I've felt terrible. I started taking iron two weeks ago at my doctor's recommendation. He said he didn't think it was my thyroid because he had checked my levels the previous month and they were fine. Those of us with any thyroid condition know that even a little change can cause problems...and "normal" for one person doesn't mean "normal" for another. The normal range is a very wide spread.
Anyway, after three weeks I started taking synthroid because I *really* think the problem is my thyroid. I can just feel it, kwim? Everyone's symptoms are different...for me, I get really lethargic and have headaches. The headaches are what really tipped me off because I never get them...but they always come when my levels are off.
I'm going to my PCP next week to check and make sure my levels are okay.
Has this happened to anyone else? I hate to self-diagnose but I felt like death and couldn't get in with my pcp any sooner.

A few months ago I felt like my levels where off and even though I tested in the normal range I still felt like a zombie most days. I went to my PCP and pretty much demanded she put me on a higher dose cause I couldnt take it anymore. she sent me to an endocrinologist who agreed that I should take a higer dose and check my levels again in a few weeks to make sure I was still in the normal range. I would stop taking the meds for now so you can get an accurate reading, but be very forward with your Dr about getting you on the right dose!
