Tatum is 3.5 months old and I'm pregnant again Pics inside

I really can't believe it's been 3.5 months since Tatum made her glorious arrival into our little world. I won't lie and tell you it'sall  been roses and rainbows, but it's all been worth it.

A recap for the newbies- Revision from the Band 6/2009, lost 130-135lbs in 10.5 months, we tried to conceive for a solid year, endured 2 chemical pregnancies in that year and was being referred to a reproductive endocrinologist.  I was released to try at 8 months post op because I was below goal, I could eat enough to support my body and a developing baby, and we were facing a possible deployment. Anyways, during the pregnancy, I gained the 35lbs that was projected I would gain, had a fairly uneventful pregnancy until the last month, csection delivery due to previous csection, VSG in no way, form or fashion complicated my pregnancy. My hunger returned during the pregnancy, my restriction became more lax the last trimester. My labs remained stellar throughout the entire pregnancy.

The main issue for me was the mental twist of the physical changes, not necessarily the weight gain, jus****ching my body change, and my skin stretch back out really bothered me. I dropped 23lbs super fast post-delivery and the last few pounds were lingering around. I wasn't trying to lose them to be honest, I had reigned in a lot of my snacking/eating, but just focusing on having a newborn in the house, and trying to juggle life again.  Least to say, she's the most beautiful, precious, little bundle of joy that I could have asked for in our lives. It's not always easy, I'm constantly exhausted, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

About a month ago, I decided to go back to basics, low carb, high protein, structured eating and working out which in the past always gave me immediate results. I was mentally ready to recommit, and drop the baby weight.  I'd drop 4-6lbs in a week, least to say when there was just a 2lb drop on the scale, I felt defeated and pissed off.  I was doing great, but not losing weight. Fatigue seemed to hit me, I was constantly tired, not to mention just not feeling great with our crazy weather here in NW Florida. I thought I was just fighting off a case of the "yucks", but low and behold the crazy, psycho, hallucinogenic dreams started last weekend. Least to say, I knew what that meant, and I peed on a stick. YEP, positive within seconds of my urine hitting the strip. I went to my PCM to get the confirmation that is required by our insurance then off to the OB clinic on base to "register the pregnancy". As I was sitting there filling out the paperwork, Dr. R (she delivered Tatum) saw me and she about fell over when she realized what paperwork I was filling out.  She asked me if I wanted her to scan me to get a due date because I honestly had no idea when I was due. We, admittedly, had one "oops" moment back in December and had already told my doc about it at my 6 week follow up when I was supposed to get the IUD. We decided to wait to see if I would start my period, and I did. During the scan, she said that I'm just about 5.5 weeks along so I honestly have zero idea how/when it happened. By the scan, I did not ovulate correctly as I've been tracking my cycles since giving birth to make sure I returned to normal.

YES, we were using protection, no this wasn't planned nor were we being irresponsible. My husband had been trying to knock me up since bringing Tatum home. But, he knew that it was NOT ideal considering everything my body has been through in the last 3 years, and he knew I wasn't really ready to be pregnant again. Pregnancy wasn't horrible for me, but I just finally got a great schedule down with Tatum, life was returning to somewhat normal, and I was beginning to feel like myself again. I was, least to say, upset, angry, mad at him. I still have a little suspicion that he was being sneaky or we had bc failure. Either way, it is what it is, we are blessed beyond belief. I'm embracing this pregnancy and praying for another uneventful pregnancy and delivery of a healthy, happy baby.

I haven't opened up publicly on FB so if you're on my list there, please don't post anything on my wall.  Thanks for letting me share, any extra prayers, good thoughts, swinging some chickens for us  would be greatly appreciated. It's still super early, and the normal risks plus some are lingering on us for the next few weeks. I just do not believe in keeping it under wraps until some date on the calendar.

Nugget projected due date is 9 October 2012(Tatum was born on 30 October 2011) - I go back next Monday for another ultrasound to confirm due date and hopefully see a heart flutter.

Wow! Yeah for Irish twins! There must be something in the air, my best friend just had a baby 11 days after mine was born (so Nov 21) and she also just found out that she is pregnant and is also due October 9th.  Guess I better watch out since we're just using breastfeeding as our birth control.  Anyway, congratulations, that is awesome!

Low-carb eating is known to increase fertility - and I'd say you're living proof of that! I know it was unexpected, but congrats nonetheless  :)
