Showing?

Hi ladies! I'm currently 18 weeks along and I'm not showing at all. Not even a little. I know that a lot of that is because of the extra skin in my belly (I'm a petite 130 pounds now) but it kinda bothers me that I'm not showing even a little. When I prod at my stomach I'm just now starting to feel the muscle under the skin starting to harden and round out a little. I definitely FEEL there's a baby down there. It feels like I'm carrying a cantaloup around in my lower stomach when I sit or twist certain ways. I've also been getting some terrible back pain so I wonder if I'm going to be carrying this baby in my back. Anywho, I was just wondering when you all started show. Or if you even found that you ended up with a 'normal' pregnancy bump after WLS. I guess I'm kind of paranoid that i'm not going to look pregnant, just fat again. =/

It'll happen! I have a LOT of excess skin so I didn't look pregnant, I just looked like I was regaining weight. As baby got bigger and came up out of my pelvis I started showing. I also wore slight compression shorts or something like spanx for pregnant women and they brought everything to the center and with clothes on I had a noticable bump. The belly really popped around 6 months, that's when I finally maternity pants and wore tighter shirts that helped me actually look pregnant. As they get bigger they come up from being deep in the pelvis and next thing you know you're knocking things over with the belly, lol
You're small so it shouldn't be long before you might start looking more pregnant! :-)

I didn't start to really show until maybe around 22 weeks - felt like FOREVER! I was wearing all my regular pants, even jeans, up until about that point. But now, I'm 34 weeks, and even strangers can tell I'm pregnant (a guy in front of me in line at 7-11 the other morning commented that I must be eating for two - at first, I was offended because I thought he meant I was buying a lot of food, but I only had a yogurt and a protein bar, so I figured out that he could SEE I was pregnant!). I, too, feared I would just look fat instead of pregnant, especially since I was still overweight when I got pregnant. I have a LOT of excess skin hanging below my belly. I've found that the maternity pants with a ful panel help to sort of shape things right; I can't use the "under the belly" waistband styles because they dig in to that escess hanging skin.

Don't worry.  I just looked like I was getting fat again until about wk 18 or so when I popped and definitely look pg.  Although I still have a big panni, the baby is definitely popping through. Being pg and not showing for a while because of the extra skin pissed me off big time!  I swear... losing 150 lbs then getting pg and not showing for several months was a total mind screw!  You'll start to show soon and it will be all worth it.  I get smiles from so many people everywhere and it's just the best!

Our little miracle baby boy is on his way!

OMG! I so feel your pain. With my first, I really didn't show until 25-26 weeks. With this one it was a little earlier but mor much. I don't have a ton of excess skin. I just think it's because I have a long torso. You'll show, don't worry!
