Nothing like adding a little more stress to the mix!

I'll be 34 weeks along tomorrow, so I'm in the home stretch! I'm due March 27th. Well, we are now under contract for a new house with a closing date of March 16! And we have classes (breastfeeding and hospital tour) scheduled for that weekend, so we won't be able to actually move until the following weekend the 24th), so I'll be squeezing my legs together to keep him in there until at least the due date  :P

Funny thing, we were competing with another buyer for this property, and, in the end, the seller told us the two offers were within $75 of each other (which is crazy when you're talking about more than $300k at play). He chose us because he spent the whole day yesterday with his four-year-old at the aquarium, and he just couldn't say not to us since I am pregnant. How sweet!

WOW - you have a lot going on but it sounds like you have it well under control. Congrats on the new house. Just don't over do it. Packing for the move should help with any nesting urges you have - just don't carry anything heavy.

Good luck with everything!

Wow!  Congrats on the new house!  That is amazing to be within 75 dollars of another bidder!  How exciting for you!!!  New baby and a new house!  (just a little stressful too)

Good luck with everything!!

You have a lot of good things going on! Will you have help with getting set up before baby gets here?
Congrats on the new house-always an exciting and a proud moment to purchase your own home.

We finished signing and initialing all the addenda and whatnot today, so now we are OFFICIALLY under contract, and we're doing the home inspection on Saturday morning - things are moving fast!

I'm sure my parents and possibly my sister will help out when they can with the move, but they are all located about 200 miles away, so it will only be little spurts on weekends. We're definitely going to hire movers to do the heavy lifting (literally!), so we're looking at almost $1,000 right there, but we both agree it will be well woth it, especially considering we've got some big items that are heavy/awkward (like our elliptical machine, full size upright freezer, washer and dryer, etc.) and/or need to be disassembled and reassembled (like our king size platform bed with bookcase headboard).

This isn't our first home purchase - we own our townhouse, which we will have to rent out since we can't sell right now (thanks, housing market, for crapping all over yourself - we owe about $60-70k more than we could sell it for right now!), so we will also be becoming landlords for the first time. LOTS going on!

Congrats on the house! we closed on our house in Sept and spent 9 weeks straight renovating it so we could be in by the time the baby arrived.  it was super crazy and stressful but it will be worth it!!

Yikes on the renovations! This house we're buying is a "flip," so pretty much everything is brand new (new kitchen with all new appliances, new washer/dryer, all new bathrooms, new flooring...). We shouldn't have to do any renovating at all. Of course, we'll find out more during the inspection on Saturday  :)
