3 years since my band surgery! Lots of pics
I can't believe it's been 3 years since I had my lap band put in. I was up to 380 and got my band, lost 120 lbs by 9 months out and then found out I was expecting my 2nd child. I gained about 40 lbs during my pregnancy, lost 12 right after and not 1 more pound after that. I had to have a complete unfill in the hospital due to severe water retention making my band super tight and when I went to get fills again, it just was never the same as it was before, it was either too tight or too loose. I ended up gaining quite a bit of weight back and found out I was pregnant again. I was 333 when I started this pregnancy and am not happy about it, but it is what it is. This will be my last pregnancy though and I plan on getting back on track and losing this weight again after the baby is born. I hope that my band will get back to the way it was, but if not, I will need to consider a revision. Here are some before pics, some of me at my lowest weight and some of two cute girls, soon to be three cute girls.
Here's my before pic, not even my heaviest. I wouldn't let pictures be taken at my heaviest.
This was after losing 120 lbs.
This is my oldest daughter.
This is my "middle" daughter.
This is me and my youngest daughter who is still baking.

Well, I've been doing a lot of reading since I'm pursuing a bariatric counseling certification, and aparently people can also deposit fat very differently. Some people carry the majority of their fat subcutaneously, and some carry under the muscle layer, especially in visceral deposits (around organs). When that happens, you can have someone who looks smaller than their BMI might suggest. I've always said that some people are "dense"and some are "fluffy."
