Oh the indignity

I had an adventure last night!
I came home from work and picking up my 2 year old. It was nice out, so I decided to move my lemon tree outside. I bent over and picked up the pot and took a few steps and *whooosh.*
Now, my bladder hasn't been the same since my first child. I pee a bit every time I sneeze, but only a little bit. I just wear a panty liner and that takes care of the issue. I'm looking forward to getting it fixed after this baby. This was a lot more, this was soaked through my pants and running down my legs. I figured I maybe peed myself. So I go to the bathroom, but when I sit down, I pee a normal amount. I do the sniff test on my pants, and I can't actually smell anything. So, of course I start worrying that I somehow ruptured my membranes.
So, I put on a pad and decide to wait and see if anything else comes out. My husband comes home and I actually make him do the sniff test as well, and he can't smell anything either.
So, page the doctor, go to the hospital, get shuffled from one place to another and do lots of waiting. Eventually my doctor comes, does an ultrasound, does a visual check of my cervix, and all appears to be just fine.
Apparently I peed my pants and I was just really well hydrated.
So this is what it has come to. I'm only 16 weeks, and now I have to be sure to go PEE before I pick up anything that weighs more than 20 lbs or so!
And now I'm THAT ONE; the patient that peed on herself and thought it was her water breaking.

No advice or anything, but thought you might like to know that my mother-in-law had the reverse problem! She's told the story of my husband's birth and she said when her water broke she actually thought she had just peed her pants! lol

LOL...well...look on the positive side...you'd rather pee yourself than have it actually be your water breaking or something!  Not that you enjoy peeing yourself, obviously...but still.  And at least you know you're drinking enough!

Re warm enough to move the lemon tree outside...yeah...not so much.  It's the equivalent of about -4F today...f'ing C.O.L.D.!   I'm envious!

True!

Sorry about the cold, but I bet you won't sweat like we do in the summer!

Can't ever be to careful.  My first miscarriage was at 16 weeks and that is exactly what happened.  I thought I had just peed myself and took a shower.  My husband was cleaning it up and called the doctor.  He was told to rush me to the ER, but there was nothing that could be done.

Yikes. Essentially, that is how my son was born. I was full term, but hadn't dilated or effaced and he hadn't dropped. I stood up after a meeting at work and my water broke. No contractions. This basically felt the same!

I'm glad you just peed yourself and it wasn't your water breaking. That would not be good at 16 weeks. It's better to get checked out than to have something bad happen and not get checked.

LOL!  (I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you! )

You did the absolute right thing in calling doc and going to hospital!  I'm so glad everything is ok!  I worked 2 years in a maternity clinic andyou wouldn't believe how many times this happens!!  Don't be embarassed!

But, you might want to intesify the Kegel exercises!

Cheers to you!

Lots of kegels still haven't helped. Every time I think it's getting better, I discover that I just haven't sneezed lately. The gyn said that the ligaments that support my bladder are stretched out, so they can fix it by butting a "sling" under my urethra. I can't get it done yet though, because it would mean a c-section afterwards. This is my last child, so I can get it fixed after he's born. Apparently it can be done without any incisions. I am so, so ready to have it fixed!
