Cravings Suck!
OK... I lost 150 lbs and rocked the whole "healthy living" thing for a while. Now I'm pg and I'm a craving butthead! LOL I'm totally craving crap food. Altho I do dump so it's not fun! I gained 5 lbs in the first 14.5 wks of my pg and my OB said I should slow that down a little cuz she only wants me to gain btwn 20-30 lbs during the whole pregnancy and most of it will come on in the 3rd tri. But help! i can't stop eating crap food! I'm about 1/2 step away from making a batch of rice krispie treats. le suck! I dont wanna eat healthy! waaaaaah!
Ok... done with rant.. for now! lol

I hear ya! My OB only wanted me to gain 15lbs cause I'm still quite heavy and I was doing great the first trimester actually losing weight and then all of a sudden, boom, I gained a whole bunch. I'm up 10 lbs already and I know in a couple weeks when I go back that I will have gained more, hopefully not 10 more in one month cause that is crazy!! Cravings are so hard, I don't dump cause I have the lapband so there is like nothing standing in my way of my sweets. Oh and now I want rice krispie treats! Thanks alot! LOL
When I was pregnant with the girls I craved good things this time is a totally different story......I'm a dumper but this pregnancy I can eat some sugar and rice krispie treats have been my friend.I only have nine more pounds of what Dr wanted me to gain and I'm at 26 weeks bad bad. With girls I ate bad things but once they were out of me I wasn't able to eat it anymore I would get sick off of breads and all.I lost the weight all but eight pounds before I realized I was pregnant again. It comes off if you want it to and realize it may come off slow but will.
I lost more then what I thought I would and what Dr said so I figure if I end up ten pounds heaver it was well worth it baby needs food.

Uh I hear you! I am still nursing and I STILL get the cravings. Even though it is not as easy to give in, I did give in a lot during my pregnancy! I gained 70lbs during pregnancy and the little guy is almost a year old, and I still have a good 45 to lose....My biggest issue is that I am not a dumper so it is and had been so much easier to get off track.
Sooo, I've read that sugar cravings can be indicative of protien defficiencies ... Now, baked chicken sounds GROSS compared to ice cream or whatever, but maybe eating more protien will help? During my 1st pregnancy, it was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches alllll the way. The second one? Wendy's french fries and mini frosties .... NONE of which I have EVER eaten in my entire life! WHo knows?
I'm going through these cravings for junk... yet again! For me, in the beginning, it would last a few days (or week) then pass. It's back now, I feel sick all the time (nauseaus) because I'm eating like crap! I can't stop myself. I know it'll make me feel horrible and eat it anyway..... What the Heck is wrong with me! I need an announcer in my head... 'Linda, walk away from the chips!'
BTW... now I'm hungry for the rice krispie treats, but luckily, I can't get them here!!! : )
You are soooo not alone in the not wanting to eat healthy thing!
