HI everyone,

My son turned 8 months this past Friday.  He currently has 6 oz of formula 3-4 times per day and 1 stage 2 baby food 3 times per day.  He has been on this feeding schedule for about 1 1/2 - 2 months now.

The last couple of days he has been unusually fussy and does his "hungry" cry.  I know every baby is different, but do you think I should increase the amount of his formula to 8 oz and go to stage 3 baby food? 

He does have his 2 upper teeth coming in so I suppose the fussiness could be due to teething?? 

 

My daughter was on Stage 3 foods and 8 oz bottles by his age. However we also mixed in her cereal with at least one jar of food a meal.

It would't hurt to try both. But if you want to try one at a time, I would increase the formula 1st! Good luck!

i would increase the formula first as well... the stage 3 foods are pretty gross and by the time hes can chew the chunks in them hes probley ready for soft table foods.. thinks super boiled carrots so they are soft... banana chunks.. avacado.. things that are soft and he can mush

I'd up the formula to at least 8-10 oz at a time to see if that helps. Also, by this age, we had already introduced Mischa to "big girl food" like mashed bananas, avocados, yogurt, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, and she just loved it.

Thanks everyone!  I have increased his formula to 8 oz and that seemed to help.  Think I will increase the solids a little bit too.
