Congrats, how exciteing. I had Mirena for a whole 2 weeks. the OB didnt place it right it was in the middle of my cervix so the next OB i saw told me that i would have to ghave it removed and another one placed. I told her no thank you the first time around hurt enough and i didnt want to go threw that again. So i went on nuvaring to find out on here that it had a weight limit and was basically doing nothing for me. SOO i flew by the tail of my coat and got prego at 11 months out witch im very happy about/ This is one of the reason i wanted to lose weight in the first place.
Starting weight 320 weight a preop 300 Current weight 198 goal weight 160

Meginsf,

I was supposed to start the nuvaring after having the mirena taken out but my OB told me to wait until I got my period. So of course I never started the nuvaring. I personally don't mind getting pregnant so early out because that still gives me some malabsorption time from my rny after I have the baby which is great. I just hope everything turns out ok without having to gain all my weight back.

Congrats!  I saw your post the other day about the mirena and that your cycle hadn't started up again since taking it out...glad to see it was for such a god reason!

Not that I've managed to stay pregnant long enough, post WLS, to know from experience, but other than monitoring your labs and taking your vits, to keep your weight from going up too much, I'd hazard a guess into saying not to fall into the mind set that you're eating for two and can now eat anything and everything you want.  Keep on eating healthy - making sure to keep complex carbs in your diet so you don't go into ketosis - and keep moving as you can...and though you will gain weight, I'd bet you won't go overboard.

Praying you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.
