22 week ob check
I went to my OB appointment yesterday and everything seemed to check out ok. I gained 12 lbs since last months check up which seems crazy to me. It make a total of 10 lbs gained so far since I had lost a lot at the beginning of my pregnancy. I told her that my ankles have been pretty swollen lately and she seemed to think it was just fine. My blood pressure was normal for me 114/80. I guess she must not think that weight gain in one month was too out of the ordinary. I always get paranoid about preeclampsia since I had it with my first. I never got it with my second so maybe I won't get it this time. She ordered another ultrasound for around 26 weeks since my BMI is so high they want to be able to check the baby often and I guess can't get a good feeling for the size of her since I'm so overweight. She also ordered the lovely glucose test for me to take in a few weeks but instead of doing the 1 hour test, I have to take the 3 hour. She said when you fail the 1 hour at 14 weeks, you'll more than likely fail the 1 hour again so it's just better to take the 3 hour one. I passed the last 3 hour one with flying colors so hopefully this time will go well again. I had been getting a lot of pains with the pregnancy and she said that it is common especially with subsequent pregnancies and since this is my 3rd that it would be more painful than the last time. Sometimes the pain is so severe that I can't even walk, I stand up and have to sit back down for awhile. It just seems weird, but apparently normal. On a good note, I feel the baby move around alot and kick alot so that is always good and helps to ease my mind. And I must include a pic of my youngest one from Christmas time. I love this picture of her, she is in her baby's playpen, which she ended up ripping.

I had a major spike in weight from one appointment to the next one 4 weeks later at one point - I think I was right around the same time along as you. My doc was not conerned, either. I think it's pretty common to have a big jump around that time; my gaining has since tapered down (whew!).
I had very swollen ankles/legs one day, but it must have been something I ate or something because they've never been that bad since, and that was a couple weeks ago now. Keep an eye on your intake, especially anything high in sodium, and make sure you're getting plenty of water. If your blood pressure isn't up, and no one's told you you're spilling protein, then I wouldn't worry about the potential for preeclampsia. Worrying doesn't help anything :) Just have to deal with it IF it happens.
And your little girl is adorable!
