my doctor made a suggestion and even though it sounds odd it works lol.  Buy a bag of cheap maxi pads.  Instead of gettig all kinds of stuff to help just tuck a pad in the hanging skin.  It helps keep it dry and clean.  I really had no problems except popping my staples because I didn't listen.  Good luck!
