Tricare prime coverage
I have Tricare Prime. I have not had a child but I know that it covers everything as long as you use your PCM. If you need outside evaluation (like from a specialist) your PCM will refer you and you won't be charged a penny. There should be no out of pocket fees, copays, deductibles, etc. As long as you use the pharmacy on post or in your doctor's office you won't have to pay for the Rx. If you choose to use an outside pharmacy or a mail order pharmacy you will have to pay copays for those. But they aren't very much at all. :) Yay for good insurance!!!
I'm not sure what you are looking for regarding "injections/prescriptions".
Regarding fertility, certain medications are covered. The requirement that is listed for Prime coverage is that a couple has to attempted conception with documented attempts (by your PCM) for 12 months before you can get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist. I know that Clomid is covered, IVF is NOT. Your husband should be able to have a sperm analysis done as well with his PCM. I would recommend that you start charting and temping if you haven't already and make sure your PCM is made aware that you are TTC. A lot of services have been cut by Tricare especially for fertility treatments due to budget cuts, just like our RX off base prices have increased and we lost Walgreens as a provider.
We are Prime. I was considered high risk. I was referred to a high risk ob/ perinatologist, and YES, everything, including the genetic testing, and consults were covered. I had an U/S with every appointment with my high risk ob, but only had two with my on base OB. The initial viability u/s at 7.5 weeks and the growth scan at 20 weeks were both performed on base. I delivered on base because it's the same hospital as my revision and I knew I would receive excellent care with my providers since they worked closely with my surgeon and my off base high risk ob.
Everything is covered as long as you follow the referral process of Tricare Prime.
