This probably sounds absurd

But today, I attended a luncheon with my husband. We were casually standing in the hallway, and the sun was shining through a window and hitting my face "just right". He leaned over and said "what is up with that crazy facial hair?" I immediately freaked out, and tried to contain my "TOTAL *****" mode since we were around a bunch of military people and his higher ups. Anyways, after the lunch, we went outside, and there I noticed it in the mirror.

I am NOW in total freak out mode. I have major baby fine, super blonde hairs down my jaw line right in front of my ear, but lower than sideburn level. SERIOUSLY, what is this??? I have never in my life had this hair, and they are LONG. Okay, not horribly long, but noticeable, and freakishly soft.

As a side note, I have only shaved my legs twice in the 6 weeks since my daughter's arrival. I literally have no leg hair, and I noticed that my underarms are not needing to be shaved as often. BUT, I have this freaky hair on the side of my face. It's worse (thicker/longer) on the right side of my face. It's there on the left, but not as severe.

Any thoughts, experience, advice? I'm holding out on waxing it because I'm hoping it's some freaky hormone thing and it will fall out or go away, but I'm scared poopless at this point.

Even though it is completely annoying it is also very normal to have hair show up in places you aren't use to after having a baby or while pregnant. Your hormones are ALL over the place right now and once they start regulating again you will see change in all of the weired things that our bodies do after delivery. When I'm pregnant I have to shave every 12-24 hours or I get an itch attack from what I call the terrible stubble's. I use to tell my Husband while I was preggers that if he wante dto touch my legs to rub with the grain not against. LOL! I also loose my hair in large amounts after I delivered. I had blue spots show up under my eyes for weeks from 30 weeks until around 10 weeks after birth. I say wax those unwanted hairs in the meantime and try not to worry. It's just your hormones trying to get back to normal. Pregnancy is a big deal on a woman's body and every pregnancy is different. I'm pregnant again and now I am experincing different symptoms than I did with my 1st =)

Thanks so much. I have very little body hair, and generally do not have to shave often at all. So, this new sprouting of crazy hairs was quite shocking. It didn't help that my husband pointed them out while we were at his office luncheon, military higher ups all around oogling the baby, people who I've never met, and I pretty much wanted to crawl under a rock. I had the little baby hair show up on my abdomen just like my first pregnancy, but this literally shocked me to the core.

I admit, I'm an extremely vain woman, and this just kind of freaked me out.

UGH!!! How annoying! It's probably as Teresa said caused from hormones being all wonky. I have crazy hairs too, but I have PCOS. I'm a lefty and find more hair on the right side of my body..good for tweezing! (has to be a silver lining somewhere right?)

I would hold off on waxing and all that stuff. You will most likely find that when your hormones balance out and your hair(sorry) starts falling out that that dumb annoying hair will also fall out. I have found that to be true every time(3x's). Also if you wear foundation as part of your makeup, make sure you go with the hair, not against it. It helps it not show so much.

At least it's blonde and not dark!! Try not to worry and enjoy your beautiful baby bean!! I bet if you look around at new moms you will see that many are rather "fuzzy" and it does go away. Another good thingI like  to remember is we have hair everywhere on our bodies EXCEPT, palms of the hands, soles of the feet and the lips. Most of the hair is too fine to see without some machinery.

Thanks so much. . . I'm holding on waxing it because my hair just started shedding again. I'm getting a major haircut on Tuesday since I held off cutting for the last 6 months to see if I could tolerate growing it out.

I'll be using the "foundation" trick, and I think that's why it was so noticeable yesterday. I always apply my foundation "upward strokes from the jawline to my temple" because it's better than dragging the skin downward or out from the eye and jaw area.

I'll be 35 tomorrow so I think it's all kind of hitting me at once LOL.

WELL HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL MAMA!! I'll be 37 on the 26th. I'm loving getting older now. Just being healthier is awesome!..LOL

When I apply my base, I doit  the normal way like you do, but at the end I just lightly brush a fresh sponge downwards. Seems to do the trick :)  Good luck!

Don't you love how tactful me can be lol. Hopefully it's just those wonderful hormones. But since you said that your leg and underarm hair isn't really growing it makes me thing about your thyroid..sometimes after giving birth your thyroid can get out of wack so if you haven't had it checked I would recommed to. Hopefully it will be gone soon so don't worry about it!!

Thanks so much for the tip on the thyroid. I'm 2.5 years out from my VSG and it's time for labs again. I was supposed to go in after delivery, but we've been too busy to make a trip to the surgeon. I'll make that appointment once the holidays are over, and hopefully my levels will be okay.
